No more E3?

If they go through with this, I'll never play a video game again. Well, no, actually ... I'll keep buying them like the pathetic loser that I am, but I'll still be pissed off. Nobody's going to want to go around to a million of these shows to see what each individual developer is coming up with ... there needs to be a central, big, annual get-together.

What's more, if they really drop E3 in favor of each publisher putting on their own events, it's really going to screw up-and-comers. Sure, everyone knows Sony and Nintendo, everyone knows Squaresoft and Rockstar Games ... they'll get media exposure. Woe be to the brand new outfit, however, that would have otherwise relied on E3 to help get the word out about them.

It bites.

on a side note, whats up with all this JP text popping up all around?
I'm english... I can't read that stuff >.>; Give me a translation!

If you're talking about my sig, it means "The stupid foreigner is very loud and annoying."

The lack of E3 would be even more annoying.

This is sad. >.<

Makes me mad. :nono:

Well... luckily, in my country, a similar event is held every year, it's called Electronic Game Show, it's like E3 but in a smaller scale, although big companies like Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft participate in this event so it's all good. ^^ (yeah I don't live in the US x_x)

Meh, I get to go to this for free so if it gets cancelled I'll lose a job perk. :(

Reporter?

And if they cancel E3... I will... <. <... I dunno... but I won't buy any of the big games right away because no way in Hell am I going to watch seperate video game conventions on television.

This makes me a sad panda. v.v

I've wanted to go to this show since I was a kid.

I feel the same way. Except for the panda thing I guess. I always thought that one year I would have enough 'extra' money to fly out and spend time at E3.

Damn that stinks, I went the last 2 years and really enjoyed it, I still got my passes and some swag around my room. I guess it makes sense though, last year it was so obivious that over half the attendance was just people who bought there way in or didn't know a damn thing about gaming but just were with the media. Still, it truly does suck, I wanted to make it a yearly vacation trip, guess that won't be happening now.

Still have Tokyo Game Show, i'm happy.

E3 is often much more hectic and overwhelming than individual events, so it looks like the larger publishers are questioning the value of displaying their wares on the jam-packed floors of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC).
yea....because god forbid a lesser known company with a better game gets attention
