No WotG for PS2?

dunno, I somehow expect the PS2 will get WoTG
 
They would lose alot of money if they didn't release this for ps2.
 
I hope they don't, so they can finally faze out that piece of shit system(for FFXI at least) and fix the problems with the game.

Maybe its a space issue? But I'm sure if they weren't releasing it for the ps2 crowd, they would have said something already.
 
If it didn't release, I could almost guarantee anyong who still enjoyed it enough would just drop the dime for a 360.

It needs to happen though, so they can finally freakin switch to DX9, and stop the rod-in-the-ass to processors everytime the game is fired up now. I desperately want the game to use more GPU power.
 
PS2 was no good for online support in the first place, hence why I never got it. From what I think, SE can do 2 things, which are both good ideas in one way or another.

1) Drop PS2 support and switch to PS3, that way they can update graphics, fix bigs etc.
2) Keep PS2 support and continue with the current game engine, etc etc.

Either way it would make them more money and continue to expand the user base imho.
 
I have ffxi for all three systems, but like it for ps2 the best ; ;

However, I'm not much of a graphics guy, I'd play if it was stick figures.
 
Didn't we go over the same thing regarding ToAU? I coulda sworn SE announced WotG would be coming out for PS2 when they announced the new expansion

Wings of the Goddess will ship simultaneously for Japan, North America (that means you too, Canada), and Europe on PC, PS2 (as well as being compatible with PS3), and Xbox 360 in Winter 2007 (meaning before the end of 2007).

Plus info regarding the PS2s weakness, so they wouldn't be able to add new hairstyles or whatnot in WotG, thus saying it's pretty much coming out for it:

Plus the recent Famitsu article showing the pic of the new job lists it as releasing for the PS2, and I don't think SE would alienate Japan by not releasing WotG on ps2 seeing as how the majority of players there are on ps2.
 
They will release it in DVD for PS2. Plus, everyone that has a PS3 can run the game on it too. That's what I do.

I don't know, it might finally get some PS3's to move off the shelves and it'd solve a shitload of the problems with the game.

They know that the PS2 is the biggest bottleneck for improving the game, and they're going to have to ditch it eventually. Doing it with the expansion when there's 3 other, vastly superior, options available is a good time. You're going to have to go out and buy the new expansion anyways, you can just throw down another $10 or however much it is for the compilation.
