Figured we need a thread to dedicate to his awesome music so we can just discuss it whenever
I'm sure it's no surprise (as a lot of us agree his music's great) that I love his music. I'd say my personal favorite song is Terra's Theme (any version) and then after that not sure, FF9 music. Rose of May, The Place I'll Return to Someday, and You're Not Alone being ones I love the most but Freya's Theme, Kuja's Theme, Kuja's Trance Theme, and Eternal Harvest (specially on Piano) are ones I love too. Then maybe FF7's music, maybe, not all of it. I mean it's good for the game but I don't enjoy it so much outside of the game for the most part. Other than Aeris' Theme or One Winged Angel from time to time (but not too much). Still <3 the prelude theme of FF in general. I personally love the softer melodies from Nobuo hehe.
God I hope Nobuo will do more music for games in the near future. Far as I know, he's been mostly involved with his band which is good but ya, I wanna see more games with his awesome work.
So, how about you guys? What's your favorite piece from Nobuo? Where from? Any particular reason why?
Oh ya, as for some fan-done things that I think are great:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXkcswJQ8hE - The Place I'll Return to Someday
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNHtbw4Kyf0 - Rose of May (my personal favorite from her)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmbgCBZ86z4 - You're Not Alone
those are her 3 best I'd say. Rest have good vocal but either lyrics aren't great or she alters the songs too much imo. Or they aren't anything too special, just basically same way it's sung normally.
There are other fan made ones I love but I've gotta browse em again.
