Noobs winning lots for things they dunno what to do with

Yeah similar to what I was going to suggest. Just let them know in advance and help them out. If they were there sacraficing equal time as everyone else, they should also have the same equal right to have that item as everyone else. Yeah I know it's frustrating when you want something and someone else gets it and doesn't know what to do with it. But if they can use it for that job then just let them know what its used for. That way they'll be aware of what that item is just like everyone else does. It'll be that much more people out there that will know whats going on when doing god runs and help contribute to making "noobs" better players. Everyone has to start somewhere. Not everyone just knows what these items are when they first came out. They had to research it or have others tell them.
 
It should have been made perfectly clear BEFORE farming who the organs were going to. Otherwise, if it was just a general farming session, anyone who helped out had just as much right to lot it even if he/she had no idea what it was for.

And it's a freakin yovra organ. Come on. The abjuration I can understand, but killing yovra's is NOT serious business.

Yes, a melle should have gotton it before a mage, but if you didn't make that part clear before the farming even began then you're flaming the wrong person.
 
I remember a billion years ago... (well it feels like it) I was a little whm and won the lot for the assault jerkin - had no real idea what it was exactly but was told to lot so I did. I found out later how sought after it was at the time. If I been told back then what it was, I probably wouldn't have lotted on it as I had no jobs even remotely likely to wear it.

A few years later I now have a few jobs that can use it, and as I never had the heart to just throw it, out it's come in handy from time to time.

Of course it feels rough when you lose a lot, but as most have mentioned be clear in the beginning and it's possible the problem may not arise.

On a further note, back then all of the alliance that lotted congratulated me even though quite a few of them could have gotten better use out of it.

cause back than people weren't such big babies..... they use to be some cool peepz back in the day.... Moltensnail... Egor.... etc.. etc... but most of the good oldschool players quit and they left us with the dumb fucks...

People stressing over Ose, eh? It couldn't possibly have to do with when they increased his pop window by 400% and lowered his drop rate by at least half? :roll:

Lotting for the sake of lotting has bugged me on and off. If the whole group just coincidentally came across [x] NM that dropped something good then everyone really does have equal rights to want it (even if someone who doesn't need it lots, which is a huge pain in the butt, is still understandable)

However, there's also the point Rappa stated - while entirely true, it can still fail. I've gone on a few coffer hunts and had people out lot others on keys for reasons such as "they're getting their key for AF, so I deserve a key so I can try to get [mediocre gil item, i.e. vile +1] for helping", even when not all after key for AF have obtained...it's a pretty awful pain in the butt if that happens, especially in Eldieme and any of the Beastmen places. All the same, communication is indeed vital to prevent annoying problems but it won't always prevent the problem entirely. =/

I didn't know ignorances was an excuse. I guess I'll lot anything regardless from now on because they look "shiny". Whenever something drops and I don't know what it is, I check. All it takes is 30 seconds and I can save myself and everyone else a whole bunch of agrivation.

So finally one day the abj drops, but this other guy wins the lot. Well shit luck for this friend too, oh well. But then my friend sends a tell; the guy who won the lot DIDNT KNOW YOU NEED A CURSED ITEM to turn it into wearable gear, he just thought u get the item and yeah.. how the hell do these ppl get into the shell.

so in both cases, someone could have making their gear better from an item they knew what to do with, but some noob lots on it cause somone else needs it. and its not like these 2 items are that common to come by.

Well, even if a lot of people argue that this flame is stupid and pointless because everyone gets out lotted by retards or just from others that don't really need the item as much as others think they do or want.

But then again, this flame can also remind us to state before you do any farming runs what each item is for and check beforehand who needs or wants the item too if it drops. That in itself takes less text to type than this whole flame here.

lol. ive leveled in the Tree.... and also in the Bay as well.... i just prefer the new areas.... i mean.... Meal Duration +.... sushi for an hour.... for only 100 isp... why wouldn't i wanna go there? you sir failed... and i have a nice little tune for you...

Um ya you can just buy the +1 food which gives you an hour anyway.. twice the time for about twice the gil.. hmm basically cost is the same..

Personally I also prefer the TOAU areas also.. but sometimes they are way overcrowded.

Don't think he was saying which area you preferred since you'd have to be an idiot to not like the bonuses out of ToAU when the astral candy is around, I think he thought you weren't playing before ToAU was even released.

Btw, that song completely sucks, it's a fail attempt at trying to be a silly song even, they should've had little animations or something to make it more amusing~
