Well this weekend was a rough one...Friday night I decided to do the Utsusemi:ichi Quest...been working on increasing my Tenshodo fame all week and finally got it high enough. I head out to Norg with my instructions and a printed copy of the map. Somehow I miss the entrance to Norg and keep going in friggin circles...I finally say screw it...cast escape and start over.
Someone takes pity on me and shows me the way...lol Having gotten lost for so long I've burned thru like about 4 silent oils already. I get into Norg and get the quest assigned...switch to a level 1 job and and go looking for the treasure room. Again...i get soooooo lost...i'm getting so frustrated. Then I finally figure it out...I'm almost there when my last silent oil wears off. I'm soooo screwed...Sahagin's all around. I die...hp back to Norg. Now i'm nearly broke and stuck in Norg. My husband (I love you Kicamo <3 ) sends me two stacks of silent oil and then comes upstairs to try and help me...lol I FINALLY find it! I attack the Sea Bonze and voila...back in Norg...finish the Quest...get the scroll!!
I then decide (as if I hadn't had enough frustration yet) that while I'm there I might as well do the quest for Tonko:ichi I get the quest and head out...this is a bit easier because in the process of getting lost earlier I had come across this room...lol I finish the quest and blood port back to Norg again. A quick trip to the Nomad Moogle to switch back to BLM then I grab a choco (getting lost again trying to get back to Kazham...lol). Hop on the airship to Jeuno and start dreaming how i'm going to spend all this money once everything sells.
I am so excited when I get to Jeuno to see that Utsusemi:Ichi has been selling for 175k (it was only 150k in Bastok when I checked) I then go to put the Tonko:ichi up for sale...but wait...it's not in my inventory??? WTFH?? ughhh...yeah..I forgot to go back and talk to the npc...omg i SUCK! My hp was still in Norg so I warp there...get the damn scroll then do the whole choco/airship thing again.
While waiting on the airship back to Jeuno the second time I get a tell asking me to party in Garlaige Citadel. The inviter quickly tells me there is no whm and that i would be main healer (yes that's right...34 blm as the main healer) my first response is to say no thanks. But he is persistent (in a nice way). He tells me that they have been using a blm as healer with another blm nuking and doing backup healing. He's a PLD and ASSURES me that he is able to hold the hate. I am weak from exhaustion (I practically ran a marathon in Sea Serpent Grotto earlier =P ) so I give in and head out there. Well..it wasn't great by any means...but it wasn't COMPLETELY horrible. Boring as HELL though! I much rather nuke the hell outta something that cast cure II over and over and friggin over. I did finally hit level 35 so at least I made some progress.
Saturday night I decided I wasn't going to level anymore until my stuff sold and I could get the two spells I needed to be current plus my next couple of spells...so I volunteer to PL my husband's party in the Dunes. He was at level 18 and we were trying to get him to 20 so he could go get his choco license. It went very well....everyone in his party was very nice and very appreciative. I always ask the party if they mind (never had anyone say yes they did...but I know some people feel very strongly about PLing) It went great..no deaths. At one point a party member left and they immediately had a replacement there so no down time. The replacement was a bit flaky though. She kept voking off the PLD which sucked cuz her HP would plummet after one or two hits. She must've checked me like 5 times. I finally took anon off and told her to look again...lol At one point the puller (my husband...lol) pulled a gob and he brought two friends with him. I took the other two and all was well. One of the gobs i took dropped a scroll of protectra and I asked if anyone in the party needed it (there were 3 mages) None of them did but Babs (the flaky level 17 war with no sub) jumped at it...eh..ok She then disbanded the moment she leveled. Again...the party leader was on top of it and quickly had a replacement and xp was flowing again for them. Finally my hubby hit level 20 but we stuck around a bit longer for two more people to level which made two levels for everyone in the party. I've pl'd parties a few times and would have to say that this was one of the more enjoyable occassions (usually bores the shit outta me).
Next morning I escorted my husband to Jeuno stopping to get teleport crystals along the way (he still needs to get Mea) but has the other two necessary for the time being. He's got his choco license and a whole new world out there waiting for him! And thank the stars my scroll of Utsusemi sold and I am rolling in more gil than I've ever had...gotten some new spells (my armor is already current except for upgrading my rings I think). Now to get a craft leveled so I can keep gil coming in.
