Well, I'll spare you the semantics (I don't even know if that's the right word) of my real life (just know it was bad), and move on into my day of horror so far in FFXI.

First thing's first: Cheack auction house. The one item I've been waiting for to sell still has not, so I'm stuck with 30-40k and not the 200k I'd very much like to have so I can level Bonecraft. Oh well, not that bad. I sit around for a while until I get a PT. I don't remember names too well, so I'll just give the layout.

PLD/WAR
SAM/RNG
WAR/NIN
SMN/WHM

We're 54-57, and we decide to go to Cape Terrigan, after arguing between it and KRT (which I preffered). We figure the SMN can use Fenrir's AoE Dispel safely enough in the cave.

So out we go to Kuftal. Part way through, my Sneak starts wearing, and I move just far enough away from the elemental nearby while staying away from the crabs. Low-and-behold, the Ele moves at JUST the wrong time, and I end up dying a horrible deat by Sabotender, Ele, and Crab.

So after a while of waiting, I get a raise. We make it to the cape, and start EXPing. Unfortunately, the EXP is slow, only pulling in about 800 in the first half hour. Then we get Puggro'd and end up disbanding. I go back to Jeuno and wait.

Invite to Boyahda. Yay! An easy enough to get to camp!

Uh-oh. . .

Once again, we lack Dispel. But I figure give it a try. It can't be THAT bad.

I only got 1 look at somebodies equips: Tulkus

He wasn't wearing a belt. Now how is this AT ALL POSSIBLE that a MNK cannot have the common sense to wear even a White Belt? Purple Belt? GIVE ME SOMETHING!

The buffs start stacking up, and soon my magic is hardly doing anything. The DRK is whiffing or hitting for 0 constantly, so we can't SC. The PLD ends up dying right before the fight ends, and I just warp out of there when I'm given the option ("You can leave if you want" or something along those lines).

The item is still on the AH.

I am still poor.

I have lost 500 EXP today.

My iPod broke.

God dammit.
 
i've partied with tulkus before, very bad, he had a rabbit belt on, the one that turns you into a rabbit. and also no head gear or gloves. the second time i pt'd with him he had the lvl 14 gloves on. couldnt figure out the sc, it was ugly, so i got leader and booted his ass.

Oh, I really did find it funny. That's what suck about the internet, ya can't really tell what's sarcasm and what isn't. :cry:
 
I have done that before, but just to mess with people.
When someone i a pick up party comes along I will unequip everything but my sword and Life Belt. Then just act like normal. They get all freaked out and I just tell them its this new thing I am trying called Naked fighting. Then I tell them I am a nudist in real life and I want to see how well it works in game. They are all scared when the puller goes out, and then right before the puller gets back I hit my equipment macro and have all my clothes back on.
Really not sure what this has to do with this but I thought it was related at first. Sorry

why i dont have a belt

srry to all who think i am a newb...i am a good friend and lend my gear to a RL freind who is also a mnk i am srry but if you invite me to a pt i will join it^^....please forgive me if i didnt have a belt or hands... i do infact have O.K and brown belt friends know that.
 
Alright Before you start flaming tulkus, he is definitly not gimped. i know him in RL we have farmed a lot together, however those expeierences that you have with him pt is becuase he was lending out all his good gear to a RL mnk freind, which that mnk didnt send his gear back to him.
