Today was quite possibly the worst day I have ever had in regards to FFXI. First off I have been in Middle Delkfutt's Tower since Sunday night killing gigas and camping Ogygos because I want his bracelets. I log on this morning when I wake up and stand in one room, without leaving, with nobody else in the zone, for 4 hours. And Ogygos does not show up. Damn, well it is time for me to go to work now so whatever I guess. Fast forward 4 and a half hours and I am home from work. I log on, in the same room I have been for days. I log in and see a little taru BLM standing there. I ask in /say if they are camping the NM. He doesn't understand becaue he is japanese, or at least claims to be. So I talk in auto translate and ask {Notorious Monster} {Item}? And he respond by nodding at me. So we kill about two more sets of pops and another person shows up. This is someone I camped against a day or two ago, and we are just chatting away in say while waiting for repops. Eventually Ogygos decides to show up. The person who showed up last tosses a stun and claims, linking with the regular gigas who popped in the room also. So I throw a quick elegy onto the link at the same moment Rubystar uses Sleepga, putting them both to sleep. So I toss a couple Threnodys onto the link and it turns red, I procede to go over and start meleeing it. Well Rubystar kills Ogygos and gets the drop. Good for him/her, clean claim, nice person while camping, etc. But I can't help but say this pisses me off. I have been there since Sunday and gone 0/7 on this bastard and I watch someone else get what I covet. Whatever, I warp back to Whitegate, defeated.
So now I am in whitegate and I decide, just buy the damn bracelets they are only 140k. I run to the AH and only one is up at the moment. I look at AH history. Everything is 140k or less. So I bid 140k. Unable to buy. Awsome, I needed more vinegar in my eyes, thanks. So I send a /tell to Rubystar asking if they were camping to sell or to use. Answer is they are going to use. Ok, whatever. I ended up buying the damn bracelets for 150k.
So now I decide to party my DRK for a little while. I put my flag up and warptaru myself to Jeuno. About 10 minutes later I get a /tell asking if I need a party. I say yeah. They say come to Crawler's Nest. So I head out. I get to the nest and run to camp and /wave to the person I am replaceing. After the fight is done this person disbands and uses a warp scroll. I stand in Crawler's nest and wait for an invite for close to 5 minutes before it finally comes. Leader might have been AFK or something I don't know, I don't care. I ask if I am pulling because I seem like the logical choice to do so in this party set up. They say yes. So I scamper off into the depths of the nest looking for a crawler to shoot my Holy Bolt at. I find one, and shoot at him (missing of course lolDRKmarksmanship). Much to my chagrin, he brings along two of his closest personal friends. I tell my party, "take the red one and let me die", which they do. Oh well my fault. The fight finishes up after my antagonists despawn, and the WHM begins to kneel. I glace at her MP pool, she has over 300MP around 60% of her total. Someone apologizes for me getting killed, I sayno worries it happens. And wait.....and wait.....When the WHM finally gets full MP she stands up and casts protectra. Then shellra.....And I ask for a raise, she then appears to have some kind of stroke of brilliance and runs to where I am and starts casting raise.
So I am back up and weakness gone. I pull again. Upon my return to camp I proceed to get hit 8 times on 7 attacks from a crawler before the PLD vokes. And I checked to see if everyone was ready before I pulled, the PLD was first to respond. So I cast drain and get a Cure 2 or two. Two hits with my scythe later I have hate again. PLD does nothing, and it's been at least 30 seconds by this point. Finally the crawler dies, and I proceed with the party. During the course of this party the PLD vokes once per fight, never uses Shield Bash, never uses flash (I think they have it at that level), never uses cover (again I think they have it), insists that casting Cure on the mob will increase her hate, and between fights regularly stands up mid healing MP to cast cure on people outside the party.
Eventually it was all over and I logged. But God damn. I'm fairly certin that today was proof that we live in a Godless universe. And if we don't he hates me.
