I dont really have a problem with the banners. idk why, but they just never seem to be in the way of anything, unless they start putting sound clips in them.........

Now, popups can just gtfo.
 
Do we have any say in how this will play out? I mean, I think everyone is in pretty much agreement that this will fuck shit up. We're a tight little stupid community, but its our community. I dont really want it getting ruined by a bunch of morons who are more "intolerable to insanity". To top it off, its kind of a dickhead move to be lying to people to cause more site traffic. Would be a different story if you'd just come out and said your elaborate plan to begin with. Was it a test of gullibility? "Look at how dumb these guys are. I said they can come cause trouble and they totally took the bait."

QCDN already has donations, but for the moment what that money is going towards seems to be our forum become some attachment to a gigantic forum of what appears to be 4chan derivatives. Thing is, QCDN can't be a "global FF" forum: It's QCDN. Quetzalcoatl Daily News. While we've always welcomed those from other servers to come and discuss stuff, this isn't the "Asura/Carbuncle/Ifrit/Shiva/Otherdozenserversgohere Daily News".

Inviting every single FF server onto our forums means for much, much, much larger-scale arguments than what we already have in addition to the fact that so many more people will generally mean many more faces to get used to. As it is now most all of us are used to eachother, and whether we want to admit it or not many of us have become accustomed to bickering with certain people to discussing certain things. Many of us, even if we aren't friends, have grown to know eachother on a friendly level.

Adding every other FF server into the mix would create some bad rifts as it is...but merging us to this... Legion-esque forum that's seemingly entirely tolerant of "chaos" and generic PC+1s/idiocy all around? The rules of that forum and this forum are drastically different: oil and water. It can't possibly work.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If he respected us as members in the least he would've just asked us to boost his traffic. What he did instead is just dupe some random members into playing some stupid little con then having the balls to publicly ask on his forum how to dupe them further. I'm sorry, but that's just low.

Merging this forum as Mish says will destroy it and everything it's about. Do this and I guarantee lots of current members will leave. I'll be one of them aswell.

this can be fixed, but I doubt most of the users would listen. What Nox is trying to do, is save Shinra Online by using us. If everyone just stops going to SO, and on QCDN, then they wont be getting their money. They NEED us, and if we dont support their bad habits, then they wont get anything

No banners on SO, he wanted Traffic to liven things up because it was stagnant and dull.

Hate to be grim but there's no proof they need us and aren't just milking money. And if that's the case, nothing's stopping them from just shutting down QCDN within the hour...it's just a matter of how nice they feel like being as well as if it's more of a profit to leave the site up or not.

And in the case he just wants SO to be more active - once again, why would he just be tricking people into going over there rather than just coming forth with this as a simple discussion? The reasoning seems to be far too light to warrant committing dragging people to that board on a farce.

We can't jus' straight up cut them out, they pay for and maintain the server we use for this board.

And I hate to say it, Nox is good at being resident tech guy.

in one of the SS's I read, that Moriki posted, there was something along the lines of "Im bringing some people over from QCDN to cause some rucuss" And "This was supposed to be a slap dash thing, but weve been pressured into doing it now. We needed a quick forum revitalization"

Maybe I just read em wrong, idk

I retract my earlier statement. While we accept new people from the community (and, gerally, from other servers), I'm going to have to disagree with the SO fucking QCDN so we get happy little Nox & Reeve babies.

That's just bullshit. This site has gone practically unchanged since 2005(4?) when I joined it. It needs to stay that way. I like the people here and I'd rather not have a bunch of idiots from SO running around and doing stupid PC+1's. We already have our PC+1'ers and they do a fine job.

So quit changing QCDN for 'the better' and leave us to our old game, on our old forum, with our old set of rules.
