nVidia Drivers

Ok I got a new laptop, this one. Will I need those drivers people have had to use for FFXI if so which ones will I need? GPU is a GeForce 9500M GS or will the latest ones off the nVidia site work?

This one is the "Official" ffxi nvidia driver, but for laptops, and it should run so much better with this. LaptopVideo2go is doing a great job at making drivers for laptops. If this is not working good enough for you, try with the newest one in there..

Will that definately work? My graphics card isn't listed in the list for that driver.

No but its worth a shot. I dont know how it will work for your your GPU.

That laptop has a nVidia... The only issues i know of is POL/FFXI with ATI/Catalyst based drivers on vista iirc.

I've read about nVidia problems and my old laptop and Chii's PC both use Catalyst ATI drivers and there's no problems or problems i've ever read about them, only the nVidia ones.

Yes there have been issues with lag and fps being very low when using songs or -aga spells for example, but the 169.17 driver helped alot

Yeah my computers stats are enough to dominate FFXI but Bard songs always cause a couple second freeze. I have to turn the effects off when a bard is in the group.
