Strike shuts down NYC transit system
CNN said:
More than 30,000 New York City transit workers went on strike early Tuesday, shutting down the nation's largest public transportation system just days ahead of Christmas, a union official told CNN.
All I can say is: Holy Shit! It's 4am there now, by the time it's 6am things will get nasty as people will be trying to walk to work.

Yes, it is total chaos here. I was in the city last night and was starting to see the effects before the strike even started...

Yeah dude, I had no school today. They had to close off some streets, it's ****ing nuts man! My pops is takin a taxi back from work, lol. It's so quiet too... kinda errie...

lol Wow, no school because of the strike? Not a bad deal for kids lol

I'm going to be back down in Manhatten this afternoon. Good thing I don't have to travel that far. Maybe I'll even drive down since the streets will be empty

o.O I think the transit bus system has been protesting for a few months around here. (Only public transportation around florida is the three hour long bus)

Is this nation wide with a particular union or something? NYC would notice this more because of how many people depend on the NYC public transport and the daily volumes.

Our local Metro buses just ended the couple month strike they were on. Transportation strikes are the worst BUT a good excuse when you get to work late.
