I get the whole, have a monster fight for you and switch out when they are low life, but I would like to know if this is the correct way on doing it. I find and Charm Decent/Even and fight Toughs. Is there any "faster" way on soloing or is 2-3k an hour the fastest I can get. I'm lvl 50 currently, and doing it the "wrong" way by partying with others.

So if any others have any guides, suggestions, personal tips, all are welcome. :3

Thank you.

are you leaving them out of normal spawn range or leaving them in their original spawn range?

I'm sure you know this but make sure they stay out of the spawn range so they repop as full health monsters and possibly stronger or weaker pending camp.\

that *could* make the exp go faster by having more refreshed pets

Depending on how they Par, if they are too strong or very weak, I'll take them away from their spawn range. Usual Even or Decent I try and keep them in their original radius.

Ok. First you have to know your camp/prey/pets pretty well. Take some time to scope out the camp you want to go to because that will save you alot of pain in the long run.

The rule of thumb is that you dont put DC pets on T mobs unless the pet is a jelly or if you happen to be duoing with someone. DC vs EM and EM vs T for the most part. That way you can stay with your pet for almost the entire time w/o worrying about it dying before the mob does. And with the new reward timers you wont even have to worry about that too much either.

As for guides the best thing i can think of is the guides that are on ffxiwiki or the bst community on lolalla(they're actually not half bad).

3k/hour is decent (pre 62). You can push it, but then your risks double. One thing is to, never ever rush. The faster you want it to go, the more likely you will die, from what I have found.

At 50, camps suck. Maybe not on BST main (see sig). If you spy an open camp in Gustav where BLMs usually solo, Goblin's Leech is a good gap plugger until 52 or 53, then you can head to Garlaige or Crawler's nest. Worked best for me.

You will find it faster if you can find a duo partner, not to mention a lot safer.

Doesn't have to be another BST either. A SMN or PUP would work well.

Ideally, you want a pet that can last the whole fight without needing to swap. Working a duo will open up a lot of camps that are much harder solo.

As Kiki stated, pre 62 ish that is pretty much the norm. Even after you reach 62 there are levels afterwards that can be a grind where you just have to tough it out. Not to mention getting camped on in ToAU areas by Bst/???and ???/Bst will slow down your production.

Duo is great in the respect of gaining exp at a faster rate(usually) and it's nice to have someone to share your time with. I was fortunate to run into a really cool 61Bst(Archdukebelial) when I reached ToAU camps and we've been buds ever since trying to duo wherever we can. There have been a couple levels where we just solo'd because it made more sense, but leading up to 72-73 we kind of stopped caring about rate of exp because we have such a good time duoing.

For guides I use both Wiki and Alla to cross-reference.

The type of monster you use is far more important than its level. DC Leeches can easily take T birds in caedarva mire, and EM Leeches own VT colibris in the thickets.

The key is to try to charm strong, hearty monsters like leeches, mandragora, scorpions, etc. or monsters with nice TP moves like cactuars or spiders and sic them on squishy monsters like Colibri or Puks.

This should be your best friend

Although, if you want to party, that's not the "wrong" way, BSTs are one of the top DDs until merit if you use the right pets. (Read: funguar)

just like everyone else has said, its all about the pets. leeches and jellies will be your best friends through most of your lvling. scorpions are great for large dmg tp moves. beware of jellies though. they are tough charms. anything above dc on jellies are a good chance of a mischarm. once you hit garliage citadel, you wont have too many issues unless there are other parties there.

when it comes to any mob, i will let it come to near death and release it regardless of where i am. so if im in its home radius or out, i release it so then it can respawn faster at full health. if its within its home radius, no big deal, it will regen. by the time you need it again, it should be all set for u.

Feh. lol nevaarmind
