Official 2009 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

Carolina fan here, watching them get shit hot the last few months of the season has been a blast, but if they go down 3-1 to New Jersey tonight I'm gonna cry. The fact that it's game 4 and that we still havn't held a lead in regulation scares me.

Canucks complete the sweep, first teem to advance to second round and earn themselves a nice long rest before the second round. Luongo is on fire, I feel bad for whoever ends up against him in the second round.

Pittsburgh takes the 3-1 series lead, and the Canes tie it up. Detroit also beats Columbus, taking the 3-0 lead.


Last game of the night is Ducks and Sharks, Sharks need a win to get back in the series. They're leading currently, 5 mins into the second.
 
Sharks are suffering from that presidents trophy curse methinks, more often than not the team that finishes first overall often fails to win the Stanley cup. Of course maybe all those teams they beat to make it to the top are now gunning for them in the playoffs. :)

I had a feeling Vancouver would sweep their opening round, now they can enjoy a break while the others beat each other up.
 
Finally

Can't believe it but Canucks might actually have a chance this year. Just one the first series against St. Louis with a kick ass 4-0 win on series leaving us with like 10 days before next game.

I'm actually stocked cause usually we suck balls and blow it in first series.

Canes are playing pretty solid hockey, but if they're gonna have a shot they need to win game 5. And the Bruins, well, they're the Bruins, they've looked good all year.

It seems like April is always a tough month for our friends up north in Canada. The Bruins made sweeping the Habs look easy didn't they?

Sorry to say Tim but no matter how many words your wall has on it, Nucks still gonna win. Lu is hot shit.
 
Bruins knock off the Habs, but then we knew that was happening.

Flames once again blow a multi-goal lead, but still managed to hang on to tie the series at 2.

Ovie scores, but Rangers manage to ride King Henrik to a 2-1 win. Also, Avery is a huge loose cannon.
 
Avery is the biggest piece of trash in the NHL. I would have never let him back in the league, he hasn't learned a damn thing. He takes so many cheap shots, can't separate his personal life from his professional one. Just seems to me he thinks everyone is out to get him. I would post links to some of the stuff he's done but i don't want people to waste their time on this jerk.

Also, if luongo stays hot and the sedin's can keep it up, i will have to change my picks for the west.
