Immediate thoughts: No NBC games at all for Pens - Canes? I mean, that makes me happy, because I think NBC is full of money-hungry pricks, but still. Odd. Way to drop the ball on that one, dipshits.

The same thing that plagued the Rangers plagued the Canucks, relying too heavily on goaltending against a high-powered and very skilled offense.

If it indeed is Chicago and Detroit in the west final, i predict Chicago winning in 7. Detroit only has a shot if Osgood starts to really pick up his game.

And before this thread gets the "OMG you did not dis DET", keep in mind, the ducks are not an offensive powerhouse the way Chicago has been this playoff run.

chicago's skilled offesense = where?

kane= 0 shots on goal!

Its funny when people talk shit after one game of a seven game series. Detroit was the odds on favorite to take it all. I wouldn't talk too much shit until they win a back to back cup this year because anything less than that should be quite the disappointment.

Pre-finals, they normally show afternoon games, which PIT and CAR have none. But now that its not "Crosby vs Ovechkin" I'm guessing even if they had afternoon games, they'd pick the bigger hockey market from DET and CHI instead of trying to hype a "Staal vs Staal" or "Crosby vs That Dude That Could Be Your Grandfather." Reminds me how ESPN only used to play Wings games, lol.

(Yes, I know his name is Brind'amor)

Have you seen hockey on NBC??? I don't know if not being there is something to be upset about.....

Though Vs. is just one step above the intolerable garbage NBC coverage. I guess it's the lesser of two evils. Like Democrats vs. Republicans.

personally, i HATE the commentators on nbc. the vs commentators arent that much better unless there is a goal scored. i prefer fsn overall.
just as long as i can watch the game, im good.

Doc Emrick is pretty solid. Eddy O is okay on color. I can't stand Millbury or Pierre McGuire. I hate every word that comes out of their mouths. I hate the faux-ESPN edgy/cool/smart "arguments" they have in between periods (Where, by the way, I'm convinced McGuire is standing on Phone Books). I hate McGuire's shiny fuckin dome. Of course, these are all personal opinions, and should be taken as such.

I leave you with this:

1:53 - Gold.

The best hockey coverage is still CBC's Hockey Night in Canada.

Although TSN has gotten pretty good recently as well. Especially the panel they have during intermission.

Looks like we are setting up for a rematch of last year. I was really hoping Boston would beat Carolina. The Wings have already beat both Carolina and Pit for the cup in the last decade, I was hoping for someone new...... :/

Yes, Blackhawks win in O/T and series is 2-1 Detroit now, let's win again while we're at home for game 4 and tie the series please.

wont happen..

EDIT: 5-1...definately not gonna happen

looks like det will win tonight since chi has huet in again

Time to go penguin huntin' again! Wings in 5.

Agreed, this is probably going to be the outcome.

Sick save last night from Osgood late in the third. That and the Kane goal was brilliant. Was an awesome third period.

problem with chicago is, they rely to heavily on their young players. their young players didnt do shit in this series. in the meanwhile, detroit has so much depth, they rely on everyone. it isnt even the star players that score the points. its the ones that you have never heard of that do all the scoring.

p.s.

and that was a clean hit. chicago needs to stop whining about it

Not a fan of either team, but I'm rooting for Pittsburgh mostly so I can get to see Marian get Hossowned now that he's in the finals. And Red Wings in 5? I wouldn't bet on that.

Pens in three.

But really, Pens in 6. Total bias, but I think have the experience this time around, and won't look as shellshocked as they did in games one and two last year. Gonna be one hell of a series though.
