Thought maybe this should be a sticky.

Well anyway, there's a lot of stuff coming out within a month time frame. This is a bad time for me to be cutting back my spending habits. Just some movies of note to me.

Transformers just came out. I didn't get it myself, but a lot of people liked that movie.

Risky business
Blow
Godfather trilogy
Dawn of the dead (2004) - unrated director's cut
Forgetting sarah marshall/knocked up/40 year old virgin collection
Iron Man
Land of the dead
The sixth sense.
Interview with the Vampire(I love this movie)
Sleeping Beauty(It's a big deal for the format, not planning to get it myself)
American Gangster/Eastern Promises/Casino collection
The Matrix Collection
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull

I pretty much wanna get everything on the list eventually. This is all coming out within a month from today.

Oh yeah, a week after that...

Diary of the Dead
The Incredible Hulk
Sweeney Todd

A bunch of older Bond movies-

Die Another Day
Dr. No
For Your Eyes Only
From Russia With Love
Thunderball
Live and Let Die

- available as singles, two 3-packs and a 6 pack.

I bought Forbidden Kingdom, and I'll get Iron Man and Incredible Hulk, but that's pretty much it on that list for me.

Iron Man, Matrix, I will get on release day but Incredible Hulk, American Gangster will be purchased when I find them for under $20 a piece.

So far:
21
Across the Universe (Free from contest at work)
American Psycho (Free from holiday blu-ray offer)
Batman Begins (Free from contest at work)
Full Metal Jacket (Free from holiday blu-ray offer)
The Last Waltz (Free from holiday blu-ray offer)
The Patriot (Free from holiday blu-ray offer)
The Prestige (Free from holiday blu-ray offer)
V for Vendetta

As you can see, I don't *buy* many movies, but my work kicks ass for contests.

Do not buy blu-rays from your local store... Regardless of their big name. (Target, BestBuy and guys like this...)

I go to Amazon.com and there is always a lower price then these stores around here. I mean wtf they are selling Predetor for $30 in stores... There are some regular ass movies and some even bad for sale at these stores at $34.99... Amazon is usually from 14.99-24.99 to me and i feel its reasonable for now.

I usually wait for an Amazon deal or something to pop up on the Amazon marketplace sellers for a bit cheaper. I just make a list of all the blu-rays out or coming out that I want, and every once in a while search and see if I can get them for under $15.

Best Buy sales them here for $18.99 to $24.99. Never see them over $30.00.

No worries. I usually go to amazon for being tax free and free shipping but I do go into Fry's because they have good sales. I picked up Shooter and Pans Labyrinth for $14 a piece Friday at Fry's.

Most movies I refuse to buy if they are over $20. I am still waiting patiently for a copy of There Will Be Blood for under $20.

I buy most movies between $25-30 a piece, but I don't buy any other video games or movies, blu-ray is it.

At last count I was at 150 blu-ray but had slowed down due to nothing being released I really was looking forward to anymore (I'd rather watch something I have already than buy something new for example), but these new releases you listed firestreak are peaking my interest again...blow especially. That's on my list of top-10 movies of all time.

I live in Connecticut...

You get Best Buy and Circuit City here for about $24.99-34.99.

You get the same shit from Walmart and Target but sometimes they have new release sales that are actual sales.

And then you get this bull shit store FYE which i hope is going out of buisness some time in the short future... They will even have the balls to try and charge you $39.99 for a Bluray... Seriously... Wtf.

I do the same as you Fire but i dont mind paying up to 24.99 at the most for a good movie.

I watch that forum for buy one get ones and sick sales. I havent bought any blu rays lately, but i picked up The Last Samurai, Black Hawk Down, Tears of the Sun and 300 all for 10 bucks a pop. Actually got Tears and BHD for 11.99 at br.com on a sale and LS and 300 on a b1g1 for 18.99. Sick deals none the less though.

I will pay more sometimes, like I just paid $25 for Dark City. But right now I'm in in a short break before grad school and need to budget accordingly to avoid debt. It's Connecticut though so that means internet imports are the way to go, and once you're in that mode, it's always easy to squeeze a few bucks better of a deal out of it. On the bright side, $25 in CT is less than $25 in Arkansas. Shit costs more, people get paid more.

Having a blu collection is great though, I look at blu-rays and I see more a value than watching a prettier DVD on a high def TV. I figure... one day, I'll have hundreds of great movies, a high def projector and essentially my own home movie theater. DVDs aren't going to cut it on a 200 inch screen, and I'm going to want to sit back and watch with high def surround sound audio. Might eventually stop going to many movies, if I can wait 6 months, pay 5 more bucks and own the damn thing myself - avoid watching 20 minutes of commercials before the god damn movie too.

The Hulk movie that just came out is the original Hulk movie which sucked. Apparently the recent one with Edward Norton is coming out in late October, according to Amazon.

IRRRRRRRRROOONNNMAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!

Man the Iron Man blu-ray has really good video and audio quality. With a whole extra disc of content for only $2 more than the standard def version at Target, it was a real, real steal. I really can't wait for Wall-E and the Dark Knight to come out as well.

By the way, picked up a bunch of used movies for cheap last week. Most notibly, Patton. It looks really amazing for how old that movie is. Fox really put some effort into its release. Here's my updated list... Putting a * after my highly recommended titles.

As you can see... a lot of titles I am a big fan of... Blade Runner probably is the best single release, with both it's vid/aud quality and just how good the movie is.

Iron Man recalled for improper playback in PS3 and various other Sony BD-Live players.

The recall happened like a week before the release, so all the ones that hit the shelves were fine.

Watched Cool Hand Luke last night with a friend. It's pretty good. Definitely not for people who need fast pacing and all the themes overly obvious.

Say that to my copy of Iron Man that takes nigh six tries to load on my ps3, but loads fine on the panasonic at work.

I'm going to guess your problem is related to the BD-Live feature. My suggestion is in your BD settings to set it to "always ask" mode, instead of the mode automatically accessing it. Then when you start it and it asks if you want to use BD-Live features, say no.
