Official Blu-ray Thread

the Lord of the Rings Trilogy comes out tomorrow, I'm definitely going to grab that. It's not the extended, super-awesome, platinum edition, but it's got what I want.

I am with you man. I am aware also that TLOTR: Fellowship is a bad transfer... But The Two Towers and Return of the King are very high quality transfers. I will take what i can get when it comes to this trilogy. I love each movie and cant wait to waste a complete day of my life watching them back to back again lol.

I think the biggest thing for me is Saving Private Ryan coming out next month. I can't think of another movie I want on Blu ray more except maybe the original star wars trilogy. Just imagine having that in your own little home theater.

The Lion King, the Indiana Jones movies and the Jurassic Park movies are just a few i want. Who the hell knows when any will be out.

I had a huge surprise earlier. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is coming out on Blu Ray here in the UK this August.

I'm looking forward to the Alien movies coming out on Blu-Ray later this year. They're supposed to have everything the Quadrilogy set had -- plus a few more goodies -- in a 6-disc set.

Saving Private Ryan came today, popping it in now.

How much do you guys want to see Avatar in 3D in the home?

got so many movies on Black Friday for like 5 bucks :) the entire LoTR trilogy, Fight Club, Zombieland, etc :P also, holy crap Baja O.O

I'd maybe, MAYBE, pay 1/100th of the price, but even then IDK. Picked up V for Vendetta on BF, and got Scott Pilgrim the a week or so ago. Got Inception on pre-order and pre sure I'm getting The Matrix/Godfather collections for Xmas.

I got Scott Pilgrim as soon as it came out. <3 that movie. Btw, when is Inception coming out? :O

Should be out on the 7th. Saw it in my jobs ad for next week.

I picked up a ton of movies during black friday as well, me and my friends are having a contest for who will own the most Blu-ray movies by the end of the year, Well my friend in texas has like 400 right now so im trying to catch up!

O.o What? I had no idea Scott Pilgrim was out already! D: I saw zero commercials for it, unlike Expendables, where I've seen a gajillion of the same commercial.

Oye, I've got some shopping to do!

The movie hasn't been released yet, it was just entered in the system and they hadn't come up with a price for it yet. It's going to be a promotional thing anyways, you buy a 3D Panasonic TV and you'll get a 3D copy of Avatar. I just thought it was funny that they'd list it as 999.99 until they put in the real price.

Oh I see. And I saw a deal for a TV that was normally 1600 or 1800 down to 999 that comes with a free blu ray player at Best Buy (I think) on Black Friday. Nothing I'd get cause I don't need it, but interesting. My cousin tells me it's cause everything will be down in price come Spring anyways when the new TV line ups come out.

Well, that was a black friday sale, but yeah everything will go down in price once the new models come out. But then you're more likely to be buying the display unit(which usually isn't a bad thing) rather than a brand new TV.
