well i have a question based on xbox live to play halo 3 live. I got all of the stuff and i was setting up my account and it asked me if i was over 18 and i said no (being honest) it said that i need a parent to make a account to back up my account, so my dad typed in his email and etc and it won't work can anyone tell me how to get online i would really like to show people what i can do on halo

Not sure what the deal is. It's pretty self explanatory to set up a live account. It's step by step most of the way but I'll do what I know to get you to that point.
Since I have Live when I boot up my Xbox under my Gamertag it says "Connect to Live". Yours will probably have the option to -join- Live. If so, click that and follow the steps. Pretend your 18 and when it comes time for the payment information just use your parent's credit card. If it doesn't give you the option when you log into Dashboard with your Gamertag then log out of the tag (begin that process by pressing "X"). Right under where your Gamertag -should- be the option "join Xbox Live" appears. Then follow the necessary steps using the same advice.
Now, if you don't want to lie, you can have your parent's input all of their information like it's their Xbox. It wont matter one way or the other unless, and I'm not sure, if the name of the account and the name on the credit card have to be identical.
Also, try signing up for a Hotmail account if it stopped you at the E-Mail. That wasn't really clear. Hotmail is linked to Windows Live so you may have an easier time getting it to accept your E-Mail address. I used my Hotmail E-Mail account for my Xbox Live despite not using it at all normally.
Since your problems are explained so vaguely that's all I can do for you now. If none of that helps you then explain, in greater detail, your problems. For instance, how far in the process are you getting, what does the error message say, etc. Explain everything.
