Official Ps3 Pricing Info!

Well to be honest "Stole" is the wrong word, as if it was truely stolen then they would have been sued. Copied is a better word. I personally don't have a problem with copying as long as it is done subtly, which it usually isn't with sony. Either that or they don't actually copy and just pick really crappy times to release information about their products making themselves look bad. Whichever it is they have done it a few times.

this made me lol cause you're a fanboy praising Nintendo for their "innovative" motion sensor.. guess what.. NOT NEW! Nintendo didn't create it.. it's been around for awhile just nintendo is making more use for it with games. (Virtual Reality, ever play that at an arcade or anything?)
Elemmire, seriously, shut up. Nintendo is the first company to announce they were putting a motion sensor in a home console's controller. No one gives a shit that motion sensing technology existed anywhere else. You're expecting technology that it's first application after it's creation is a home console, which is insane at best and will never happen.

Innovation is defined as "Introducing something new" as per this source. Nintendo is introducing new technology to consoles, therefore they fit the definition of innovative.

You don't know what you're talking about, all you're doing is harping on nintendo fans calling them "fanboys." You don't like nintendo fine, but shut up already.

The controller? ya.. not like Sony was the only company using that style. Sega did too. So did the Pippin (Macintosh's only consule). It's a design that makes sense for our human hands with our thumbs and all. Companies? Nintendo fans bitching about Squaresoft (now SE) going to Sony? I'm sorry that the playstation offered more for Square than the Nintendo 64, get over it.

Nintendo lost a lot more third party support than just Rare...

People don't complain about Sony stealing the whole controller... just the analogue stick. N64 WAS the first console with an analogue thumbstick.

Yes, the controler makes sense given that everyone's human and that it's a comfortable design for people to hold and play with. Taking the basic controller layout isn't of any concern, people are talking about the technology in it. With every single advancement in the controller's technology/design, Nintendo was the one who implemented it or in the motion-sensor's case announced it first.

Companies are free to develop games for whoever they want to, no one cares. People are happy to see games from company's they like on consoles they own though.

baja, I'm just getting sick and tired of you and other nintendo fans coming in and bitching about someone stole this and that and such. By the way.. no.. Nintendo was NOT the first to have an Analog stick. Atari was.. oh what was that? Nintendo not seeming so innovative? ZOMG!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_stick

Ya, I'm getting sick of this crap. I don't care who really does what first. I just am sick of the nintendo fans coming in and bashing another system cause they share something with Nintendo System. I will give that Nintendo's latest system seems to be great. I wasn't a big fan of Nintendo Game Cube due to the gaming library. Nintendo 64 before that I have and do enjoy. It just so happend I like the PS2 more because it had far more games I enjoyed. How about you stop going around bitching about nintendo stealing this and that... cause I assure you I will do a search and find how they aren't the first (and I'm sure I'll fail at some points because I'm sure Nintendo created a few things before others) but stop thinking Nintendo is god's gift to man of a company and stop going around bitching

Where the fuck did anyone bash the PS3 because they're using the motion-sensor? In my post with the picture, I find it hilarious that so many nintendo-haters said that the motion sensor idea was stupid, but Sony copied it and I'm sure they'll love it then. Yeah, Atari had an analog stick, that's all they had, in that it wasn't a real controller so much as a stick. I didn't mention the analog stick, because I don't care about it; but you cannot deny that Nintendo has put in several innovations into the controllers that have been adopted by other companies. It's empirically true, and it was bound to happen with the motion sensor. The fact that sony is announcing they're going to "steal" the idea before either console is even out is ridiculous.

The whole concept of you hating people not liking that Sony is stealing one of the big selling points from Nintendo's console is laughable. You're tired of Nintendo fans bitching about Sony(Which is barely if at all from what I've seen), but they get bitched at more than anyone else. You throw around "Nintendo Fanboy" like it makes them some kind of leper, but the second they start arguing back you have the audacity to get mad? So I guess it's all fun and games until the other side bothers playing, deal with it.

I don't think Nintendo as some kind of god among gaming companies, nor does anyone else that I've seen. That doesn't change the fact that just from saying you're a fan of Nintendo you're persecuted as a "Nintendo fanboy" and immediately dismissed. Stop labeling people who like Nintendo as inherently bad and maybe you can gain some kind of moral ground to stand on.

lol.. you are so damn hypocritical. You go around and throw the sony fanboy thing out there as you claim I throw the nintendo fanboy.. And yes.. I do think fanboyism is just wrong and stupid. I have noticed Nintendo doing things good. The controller at first (just a basica rectangle controller) looked uncomfortable and that's what I said at first. I've seen it in action since then and I'm more and more impressed with how it is and how much fun it could be to have. Nintendo isn't the first to put motion sensor in a system controller though. The guns I played with for Virtual Cop 4 (or was it 3) for my Sega Saturn has motion sensors. That's for a consol controller. It's before Nintendo.

I do think (I'm not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure) that Nintendo had the D-Pad to the left and buttons for control to the right but where were you to bitch about Sega stealing that controller type when they used the same type for their systems up until they made a new one for the Dreamcast? No, you haven't ever said anything about that.. only about Sony "stealing" their controller type. I have you yet to really say anything good about sony even though I know you enjoyed playing games on their systems. I can handle a debate fine.. I don't mind it. But all I've seen you do is just have a problem with sony for "stealing" what hardly seems like thef (other than this current motion sensor thing.. that, I will agree with, is just stupid of Sony).

Yet, I don't call them by fanboys, nor do I demonize them for being fans of Sony or Microsoft; unlike you have. Yeah, I'm a real big hypocrite for sticking up for what I find fun while not calling people who don't find the same thing fun to be idiots.

There was no motion sensor in light guns until House of the Dead 4(Shake the gun to reload) came out, which is still an arcade game. Having to point off-screen and shoot to reload doesn't consitute a motion-sensor. I'm sure sony/microsoft will come up with a controller with speakers inside it soon, but then that couldn't possibly be a unique idea on Nintendo's part.

Considering that the whole topic is about the Sony Playstation 3, the fact that other companies has adopted Nintendo technology is irrelevant. If it was a generic console gaming thread, then yes people would mention the other companies; but since the focus is on Sony's console that's all that's important.

Speaking of being Sued, wasn't Sony being sued by some company that actually had patented the dual vibrating mottors on controllers and Sony actually has to pay them now? (no wonder they removed the vibration, although they said it was because it could interfiere with the sensors). N64's rumble packs and GC controllers are single mottor, so Nintendo doesn't have to pay anything to anyone.

For the record, Sony also put one of the SNES sounchips on the original PSX, well, they used to make the chip themselves for the Nintendo consoles, but still, another stolen idea for the archives...

It all boils down to content in the end... not the damn system, who "invented" what, and all of that horseshit. We all know, un-immitatably, Sony has, for many years, straight up killed other systems in content. Nintendo has some great games but there are more (in quantity) great Playstation games, if you argue with that... you're arguing for the sake of arguing and can go choke. Xbox has Halawl and what, ten other great titles that just so happen to be availible now on other systems and PC? Sony, I'd venture to say, has put out more titles for their Playstation 2 than the Gamecube, DS, and Xbox (old and 360) combined. Quantity doesn't always > quality but everyone must admit there are many, many quality games for the Playstation 2 and more so than its peers. I will buy PS3 simply because I will only allow myself the money to choose one. When I pick one, I want reliability... someone who, unlike Nintendo (Hello N64 meet Sega Dreamcast, both great systems too =/ ), wont just slow down or stop supporting a system with new things or games. I also want a vast selection of titles and genres to choose from which, in the past (N64+ not pre-64 when Nintendo was the shit), Nintendo and Microsoft have not given me. My choice is off reputation, not fanboism or a deep desire to hate all things Nintendo or Microsoft, just strictly who has done better in the past few console wars. One day I hope someone knocks Sony off the chart, as I hate buying a Sony product personally, but until then... They own my console dollar.

Wow I just saw a video of a demonstration of a game called Eye of Judgement and it looks pretty cool. I'm not aware if it is for the PS2 or PS3 but it does seem to be an Eye Toy game. It could get me back into card collecting battle games like Magic assuming the card costs aren't too high. =D

I saw the video on gamevideos.com

You know, for someone so High-and-Mighty about this subject, you sure don't know what the hell you're talking about. I sure as hell can't use motion sensing on my Virtua Cop 1 and 2 on my Sega Saturn, I don't know what you played.

Having played Virtua Cop 3 in Arcade, I can say with 100% certainty that it doesn't have motion sensing capability either, and this IGN Xbox review makes no mention of motion sensing in the game's home version.

And there is no such thing as Virtua Cop 4. GG.

People are talking about Sony being the idea thieves right now because that's the current issue. You bet people talked about Sega "stealing" Nintendo's pad design for their first systems... it's just a non-issue at the moment, since Sega doesn't even make console hardware anymore.

I think I'll wait a bit to get PS3 unless FFXIII is released along with it, which it def wont be :P
