How many times will you lose your wireless PS3 / 360 / Wii controller?

Wireless = bad.

PS3 controller had a wire I thought O.o

and since it's supposedly true that you can use your PSP for a controller for the system and I never lose that I'm good :P

I think the early prototypes did, but then Sony heard that Nintendo and Microsoft were going wireless, and they said "HEY! I am having idea! Lets copy!" as always.

I like Nintendo and all, but i think this time they are so screwed.

The Way of the Wii is simply not enough to end the people's desire for a machine that can prouduce mind blowing visuals.

Sony's PS3 Controller has no External Sensor as mentioned in this demonstration.

Sony did what they had to do to deliver the goods. And this controller is "good". Don't get upset about Sony ass raping Nintendo, the Wii will still come.

The Wii letting you download and play old games is nice.
The Wii controller is nice, but not ... Ok it's amazing. It's really gonna feel nice.

All and all i have a firm belief that the Wii is definatly inferior to the PlayStation 3. Nintendo made yet another hardware innovation. What else would you expect from the company that brang the power glove.

At this point, Nintendo can only rely on their tallent for designing games. They are not trying to steer gamers, they are trying to get more people to play. And when those people have their new found passion for playing video games, they'll drool at the PS3.

The Consol wars is magnificient. Why care who made the prouduct. Without competetion, video games would be pretty far behind.

Yah, and PS3 is pricing itself out of the market with its absurd price point.

People want superior graphics, but they don't want their wallet to be $600 lighter... before even getting a single game - and reportedly, games for PS3 will be significantly more expensive because of the still-proprietary Blu-Ray format.

PS3 = the new Neo.Geo.

that's not really funny.. that's just stupid :\ considering Sony announced long ago they were gonna have the PSP hook up with the PS3 and this was announced a good 1-2 years ago. Nintendo doesnt' even look wireless really from previews other than the presentation at the E3 which still looked like they had wires but coulda just been from something else.

ya.. let's just over look all the backwards compatability that the PS3 has and just at the games that are coming out on launch.. many which seem very entertaining and, at the very least, superior in graphics than other games. PS3 might be "over priced" even though it really isn't considering how much a blu-ray player goes for.

That's the thing though. Blu-ray discs are fucking expensive. You're really looking at $70-80 per game, ontop of the $600 pricetag. As well, graphics are peaking. Soon, you won't be able to get much better. It cannot be a selling point much longer, and Sony is doomed for failure in the future if thats all they can push.

Kinda funny that the VP of Microsoft pretty much cockslapped Sony, saying "Instead of spending $600 on a PS3, why don't you get an X-Box 360 and a Nintendo Wii." And sadly, it's true. Why get a PS3 when for the same price, you can get both the other consoles? You'll have a lot more games available, as well as having them available for a cheaper cost.

Tbh i wouldn't even look at the PS3 if FFXIII wasn't on it.

Ditto, I only care about the sony systems because FF and MGS nowdays. I'll buy the occasional game for it I hear about maybe, but that's it. Sony isn't going to lure me to buy tons and tons of games for it like nintendo does with me. If there are tons of people like me, that only buy a few games throughout the console's lifetime, I'd imagine they're losing lots of money on people like us? And now that MS and sony kind of established the predesent "Hey, our consoles made in the first 6 months by our companies might not work", well I just had the thought of replacing a 600$ dollar system because it stopped working for no reason, and that is crazy. Even if such a thing didn't happen, it's still expensive unless you plan on buying tons of games for it to make it worth it.

It'll be hard to justify 70-80 a game too. Between the other two consoles and the handheld games we have to choose from, why spend 80 on one game. Have 5 PS3 games or...have 8 other games at full price of 50$ ? Don't even pull the "But their games are better" card, because that's a very arrogant thing to say. The graphics aren't going to be equal, but graphics are already at a stage for some people in which we might say, "Meh, they're all damn good enough for me, not too much difference to take note of". In other words, graphics are now advanced enough already that some people don't need much more. Some of us are content almost with modern graphics and now want new things to be improved.

And regarding graphics, they're pretty and stuff, but at this stage it's just about more detail, and not about adding things that weren't there before. Graphics jumps from SNES to 64 and from ps1/64 to the gamecubeps2/xbox were big because, with the new graphics, new things could be shown. For example, we could see all the features of a face on ps2/cube/box instead of this blocky face in a PS1 with two black dots for beady little eyes. Things like shadows, smoothness, and "new" detail were new then. Think of the original MGS1 compared to the gamcube remake twinsnakes. Obvious new detail was introduced from one console to the next, and not just enhancing of existing detail.

However, the new grahpics look to just enhance already existing detail instead of adding importent things that weren't already there, big woop. Not everyone is a graphics junkie. MGS4 could come out on PS2 with graphics comparable to MGS3, and I'd still buy it and have a good reason to pass on PS3.

Infact, if some of you are such graphics junkies, what the hell were you doing playing PS2 instead of cube and xbox? Hypocrates...I swear. It's all about the games available during ps2...and now it's all about graphics? /disgust. It's something like that, that makes use of the word "fanboy" acceptable, and that is stating changing interest to fit your future console. If it was about the ps2s games, fine, but the reason for liking a console best of "Game selection(in your opinion)", shouldn't change from console to console for a certain gaming company.

And to assume, new "casual" gamers would be lured away from an affordable system that got them hooked, to a more ...gamer established system, is just silly. If maryjane never played videos games before, and got really into the wii for it showed her video games in a new light that actually interested her, why would this casual gamer who never was into video games because she was never awed by graphics and complete control through the fingers only change now?

let's also face it, the only thing Wii has going for it is the controller (atleast mostly in my opinion). Hardware-wise it's far inferior to the other two Systems. Gaming-wise I can get the few good games on a sony system first (usually) and some Xbox/PS games for it. Do you know of ANY Xbox/Nintendo games? That is.. a game that can work on Xbox and Nintendo but not on the play station? cause I don't know of any. I don't think things will be changing. Let's also face it, the best Xbox games (as few as those are in my opinion) are not only on the sony system but also on the computer. Nintendo, as I've said before, doesn't really hold any games to my liking. Zelda is nice but I've not enjoyed it for awhile because it hasn't changed in almost any way. Mario is the same game over and over and its spin offs are rediculous. Never was a fan of Metroid either.

By the way.. did they officially announce the price of games for the PS3? I haven't seen anything about that yet (though I haven't kept much on anything with the new systems for about a week now) so I don't know. If not, speculating is just that. In reality most things could already be cheaper. Music CDs, for an example, don't cost that much to mass-produce and sell off but they sell them for tons more than they produce them. I'm sure the same can be said for most other disc types. Then again, not something I'm too familiar with, but if I was a company, why would I spend so much on a disc (say a game is 50 dollars and the disc costs 45 dollars to make... 5 dollar profit isn't much) with so little profit from it? Hmm.. I should go find more out about the cost of creating a Blu-Ray media disc compared to a DVD Disc. So I'm gonna do that and if someone knows before I find out, I'll be checking periodically.

And people should stop with the "I only look at the system for this one game" thing. Most of the other systems seem to have that problem like Microsoft with the Halo people and Nintendo with the Mario/Zelda/Metroid people mostly. If you don't, ya know, browse around, you'll miss out on TONS of other good games. If I just stuck with only one game I'd never have found the awesome ness of NIS and their great Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, Phantom Brave, etc games. So far I still like Sony because they still have the most gaming companies contracted under them so they tend to have a much much larger library to browse from.

Everyone crapped on the Gameboy when the Gamegear came out because of it's 'inferior' graphics. Didn't htey do the same for the DS? Last I checked with a good enough price tag and a nice lineup of fun games people tend to toss the graphics aside. Most played game at my parties right now? Warioware.

Ele, you really need to look at whats going on. $600 is driving people away from the Playstation. If it doesn't sell, Developers will not stick around. They will not have the games. That's why pushing for the best hardware is going to shoot them in the foot. Graphics do not make the game. Graphics will not get games made for you. If you're selling your console for a huge amount of cash, and using a media that isn't refined and still brand new, causing your developers more production cost, thus raising the price of the games on your console, people are not going to want it when they can get most of the same games on a cheaper console[Xbox]. Sony's gone off thier rocker "lol look at how our games look," as opposed to "lol look at hour our games play." Honestly, I'd rather play something that looks like the original Pac-Man these days as long as it's fun, and not making me feel like I'm just watching a CG Movie.

Blu-Ray takes twice as long to produce as HD DVD. This is another key reason why it'll cost more.

I also don't recall anyone saying they stick with one console for one game.

Yes, pay $600 to play games you.......... ALREADY OWN! and can already play on hardware you already own! BRAVO SONY!

it's not graphics, Skaw, it's the hardware itself. A game can be so much more detailed on a PS3 than on a Wii because of the hardware. And I don't mean graphically detailed. Games can be HUGE. Really world sized in a way.

by the way.. the price of the Xbox 360 was something people were bitching about too when it came out. People bought that with no problem for the value pack of like $500 or $400 whatever. I know a few stores around here were sold out the week it came out because so many bought it. People might not enjoy the price but I assure you most will fall to the hype and wil get it even though it costs $600 (or the $500 one). People also complained when the PS3 was coming out for $300 when it first came out but that sold in huge numbers.

And for the cost of the Blu-Ray disc sure might cost much more because it requires different equipment (as that article said) but DVDs used to be more expensive. It might be so much now but I bet it'll drop somewhat in price in a year or two if that.

Finally, look at Rinoah's post.. saying she wouldn't even consider playstation if not for FF? that's an example of someone going at a system for only one game. As of now, none of the new systems hold too much interest for me because the gaming library isn't too grand. PS3 will have the benefits of the few good games on launch and all the games from PS2 back to PS1 and the Wii will have the benefit of the old good games you can download onto it. The only two games that interest me that are coming out on Wii are Zelda (I wanna try using the controller with Zelda and see how it is) and the Red Steel game (doesn't seem too great game-wise but the controller use seems it'll be fun so it'd prolly be a title I'd rent).

and just for baja

so true. As I've said many many times, all systems have their draw backs and their strong points. Based on the history of playstation I see PS3 being a system with a very large library of games to choose from and with the ability to be very large detailed games that are almost completely open. Wii's system has its controller which really brings the player more into the game and, from watching videos, in a very real way compared to most things before. Xbox has power as well with a decent sized library. However, PS3 has its price tag, Wii has its inferior hardware, Xbox has its umm.. well large library but not many great games for it imo.

Sorry man, your still not seeing the big picture. the PS2 and xbox ran the same media storage last gen. This gen, the PS3 will have Blu-Ray, a much more expensive disk, which takes longer to load/fill/ect, along with its price tag. The 360 disks are 60$, and they're 'inferior' to the PS3 disks. How expensive will the PS3 disks be? Think about how many 360 games you will be able to buy for the same amount of a few PS3 games. When you think about that, you have to realise that game producers will also think of this. They can sell more disks at the same profit per disk for a 360 then they can for a PS3. Sony just did not to a good job on this one, im afraid...

If Wii has 88 MB of its own system RAM, it'll be capable of very close to the same "sized" worlds as X360 and PS3, especially if it's still able to access the GCN hardware's RAM, which I've heard it is... not sure on that though.

Remember, Xbox's worlds weren't that much bigger than what you could achieve on GCN, and that was 64MB RAM vs 24 +16MB "slow" RAM... and PS2's 32MB.

Oh, BTW, Blu-Ray discs being overpriced is exactly like the problem N64 faced with third parties. Nintendo at the time was still very popular but the cartridges were very expensive to order and mass produce, with risky profits... which drove most third parties away from producing N64 games - they were simply too expensive to risk getting possibly low sales.

It's really begining to be annoying trying to talk to Elemmire. "Sony's off thier rocker, too much cutting edge leading to such a high price. People are getting turned off from Playstation." Replies with; "BUT ITS BETTER THAN INTENDO@!#!@!!!" without previous mention of Nintendo. At all. Seriously.
