In 1993, I saw a flippant news report on 'Ogopogo' -- A serpentine monster that supposedly lurks in the depths of the Okanagan Lake, Kelowna, British Columbia. (I'm from BC). At the end of the report they showed a series of scenes where Ogopogo had been represented by various media.
They actually showed a clip of Ogopogo in FFIV unleashing 'Big Wave' on the endgame party. It was pretty awesome, especially since Final Fantasy was so underground back then. I imagine there was someone not unlike one of us working at the studio who decided to add his two cents to the report.
It made me feel good, anyway.
