yeah im quite bored.... so i read a bunch of the flame posts here....

then it struck me....

just think what would happen if PvP was implemented...

btw.. that post with Ham and Vill..... really went longer it should have... Ham's last post was like on page 3... it went on to page 6 i think.... ^^;
 
I actually did post one more time on that because I was pretty darn sick of it too and I wanted to say "hey, shut up" in a polite way hehe. But I have to say that disagreements are healthy, but fights arent. The vast majority of people on these boards get along with eachother, despite arguments in the past. I always find it good to read another persons viewpoint because it lets me realize something I hadnt before.

But ya, I've never liked the idea of putting PVP in place. I used to play diablo 2 a few years ago and there was more then one occasion where things would be rolling along pretty well and then all of the sudden I would hear the "so-and-so has turned hostile toward you" usually so-and-so would be something like 50 lvls ahead of me, and would be like "fight me you ???" Theres just too much room for abuse in that type of system. I know it would be pretty discouraging for the new players if some lvl 75, or even a lvl 25, was hanging out right outside the zone of town ready to kill them. I think ballista is a fine way to impliment PVP because it requires all involved to agree. I havent actually been in a ballista match, everyone I join ends up with me being the only one who joined :( .
 
What they need to do is this.

An Arena where you can go, register, and send out a challenge - a challenge which is played as a shout to the area where the person you challenged is, so they can't puss out without it being known by all.

The arena would have rules that could be agreed upon in advance (IE 1-1, 6-6, or whatever) and dying there wouldnt cost you EXP. Just respect, because the results would be /shouted in the area where both the challenger and challenged were. :P

This would be an ideal way to deal with assholes like Tilk or Xcalade, because they'd have to put their money where their mouth was.
 
This would be horrible in a good way :wink: Bastokian streets would be painted red with the blood of the /shout abusers. Spam wouldn't happen anymore and abusive language would end. Ahhh it sounds like heaven.
