See above. If you've even thought about considering fishing as a source of income, take it upon yourself to get 2.3 million or so to get this rod. Hunt some NM's, train a billion Giddeus mobs, steal it from your little Taru granny who only takes the chocobo out once a week for leisure...
Get. This. Rod.
I'm only Fishing skill 28, and I spent about 2 weeks earning the rod. My first cast in Port Jeuno? A Black Sole and a .2 skillup.
Black Soles cap at 96. They sell for 2k apiece. And I've been pulling up nearly a stack an hour in the Port, plus other random fish to pad the bankroll even more.
If you think fishing is 'boring,' get a better LS. Or watch TV. Or bot - hell, I don't care. It's your account, you take the risk. There's a reason you see so many JP's fishing of the Saruta cliffs - it makes money, it makes money quickly and painlessly. The best part? I never have to ever ever EVER camp a NM again, aside from EX drops.
