Oh my SE to make XI Window-able

Nice. I only use windower for the window mode because i like listening to music and if im not windowed i dont really have any control over it. Well and the PartyTP plugin is pimpin too for my sam so i know when i can weaponskill and dont have to work off TP macros, o well.

I agree with Dejan. In fact, it might possibly mean more income for SE in terms of increased accounts being registered.

For example, someone who can only access one account at a time now may be encouraged to sign up another account because they can switch over easily and legally without having to buy a whole new platform.

I call BS. It isn't up on the playonline website. Until then I stand with the people saying lolalla.

No. Why should it?

Because they waited until the tail end of the game's lifespan to put in a basic and primary function of MMOs for the past decade or better?

You'd figure every once in a while they'd throw you guys a freakin bone.

He's asking if it's going to do anything more, like tell you peoples TP, or something more insidious.

Plus, let's not get in to the lifespan, the game has a solid base of subscribers to continue on for a while. Just because it doesn't have 8 million doesn't mean it's dying.

Look at EverQuest. 100k subscribers and they still pump out expansions.
Hell, Planetside can't have more than 4,000. It still has an active development team.

Thanks, i understood the question quite clearly and answered accordingly to your counter-question. It'd be nice if they threw you guys a bone not that they would or should, just that it would be nice.

I can see why you went there but it's not a quite what i was getting at. You and i both know the 'golden age' has passed. That's all i meant by it. Solid subscription base or not i figure that much is a true statement. That and the fact the company is concentrating it's efforts on a 'successor' (their words, not mine)kind of tell me something but that's neither here nor there. Just because a game is up doesn't mean it's still enjoying an active lifespan. Currently XI is alive and kicking but there's really no telling at this point how long it's going to last outside of the brand/title fanbase who will never leave.

I figure it would at least be within the realm of possibility that they add a little more then just window function to it, especially if the aim is to boost scrips. Maybe not tparty or anything that would advantage players so blatantly but .. something.

Dude once Warhammer 4000 comes out how much you want to bet WoW active players will drop? That is what to EQI/II when FFXI came out, and the same happened to XI when WoW came out.

Any "extra functions" this official windowed version may have, will also have to be applied to both 360 and PS2 platforms (considering that one of the reasons SE would implement such a change in the first place would be to eliminate any advantages current windower users hold over their console counterparts).

EQ1 was never really "huge" in the first place. It never broke the 500,000 mark, and it was considered a huge success. EQ2 never touched what EQ1 made. WoW has a lot of drop-out cushion before it has to worry.

As for Warhammer Online and the 40k MMO - Warhammer is no where near as popular as Warcraft is. I mean, I'd like atleast one of them to be somewhere near the success WoW has, but I just don't see it happening, let alone WoW's subscriber base tanking because of it.

THEY'RE MAKING A WH40k MMO?

OHHHHHHH FUCK I BUSTED A NUT

I hated the warhammer games ~.~ biggest waste of time ever

The Warhammer MMO looks shite, and according to people on the WoW forums they've said there will be no healing classes as they aren't fun.

Gameplay looks meh. They've taken out most of what makes the Warhammer universe great, the race/class system looks #%**e.

Graphics look nice.

Also I like "We've taken away healer. No more namby pamby healing and nothing else" combined with "Everyone's a DPSer!" combined with "The Diversity of our classes is great".

They mock games that use healing classes. Clearly the yare overlooking that healing classes are stupidly powerful in PvP in WoW, atleast.

(insert 'captain obvious saves the day!' picture) I'm lazy today.

LOL

That is all.

New MMOs releasing make players drop activity momentarily or otherwise from established MMOs when they hit the market? Gads. What a shocker.

Just about everything new release or slated for release to pinch some of WoW's market are complete bullshit reskins without proper developement before release SAVE lord of the rings online. Even that's a reskin but you're paying for the storyline and setting on that one. Regardless were i you i'd be worried about more XI turnovers, in all honesty. WoW can take the hit without even noticing. Personally i'm not that worried about warhammer at all. Lord of the rings is going to make more waves for WoW players, in all honesty. I garuntee most of the NA/EU audiences read those books cover to cover 20 times before they picked up a Warcraft title.

Why go fight orcs in another game when you can simply do it on the one you play? Oh that's right graphics... lol. If that's all it takes to get you in to something put down the controller, you're not a gamer you're a media witness.

They're all just prettier WoW experiences, which is arguable since WoW's graphical 'limitations' are more simply branding/unique style to the game titles. Will people waste money on them to see for themselves? Yup. Vanguard already speaks to that. Will they come right the hell back to the well-supported, well founded, established game they already had once they get tired of games that are having new-release issues? (save lord of the rings, they're about as rabid as FF fanboys) Yep.

Realisticly the players who do hang on will still most likely play both a new title and an existing one be it WoW or otherwise. I know that's what i'll be doing once Marvel Online hits.

Do your homework.
