You should realize that you need to go into POL now and change your passwords and then clear out all the saved temp cashe password data on your computer

You should at least download a free scanner. AVG's free edition seems to work okay. I downloaded it when all this stuff started happening and it found something (not ffxi related) on my pc that symantec, adaware, and spybot didn't find on my pc.

The fact that the file was totally my own fault for not wanting to pay for a learn Japanese CD is entirely beside the point...h34r:

You weren't directly targeted, it's not like someone said "Go virus, GO! Infect only this specific computer!"

By it's nature you just happened to be a random casualty. Still, take precautions. A lot of times keylogger are intended for far worse then simple account theft. Something they let others get access to much more important information like access passwords or personal information such as CC or SS numbers.


EDIT: Keygen trojan? That's not a keylogger, least I have never heard of a keylogger described like that. Keygen trojans is a term used to refer to you getting a trojan from a program that creates a fake Key for a software program.

For example, you downloaded Unreal 3 and you need a serial to install it, you downloaded a keygen, and it was a fake and you got a virus. For keygens I'd strongly suggest scanning them on any number of free online single file scanners, they scan through like 30 different virus scanners for free, and it's simple and quick.

Not sure exacutally what was up with a keygen trojan, but it was a trojan and it was taken care of. It's kinda weird that a keygen would have a trojan on it...

I visit that site on my comp with IE6 and I don't have it. I have Norton 2007 and no pop blocker or spyware detector.

Maybe it was a keylogger that only lasted like 5 mins or something. Would explain why a lot of people don't have it.
