Oh noes!

There is no fucking way Iran is not building a Nuclear Weapon.

Hope we hit them with Sanctions. Their economy depends entirely on oil exports. Cut that and they will collapse in a month while we would just see slightly higher gas prices until Iran conceeds and the sanctions can be dropped. Higher prices would also speed the solution to an alternative fuel source. An alternative won't arrive without proper motivation from high prices. Its the proverbile two birds with one stone.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday dismissed the possibility of U.N. sanctions against his country and called for the dissolution of Israel, saying that the country is an artificial state and Jews should return to their "fatherlands" in Europe.
..."Or we will be "forced" to vaporize the Jews, and take delight in doing so."

Someone just melt this fuck.

Just to point out how stupid/ignorant/crazy this guy is:

CNN said:
And, as he has done in the past, he appeared to question whether the Holocaust took place.

Holocaust? No such thing...Sand and camels (and my bombs) are very real though, I assure you.

Isn't that guy one of the interns on X-Play?

I think Iran would make a nice parking lot. ^^

I do think this world could use a bit more glass, if you know what I mean.

Because western media is completely unbiased eh? And no other country apart from ones friendly with America have the right to widespread cheap and clean electricity -.- Give me a break.

As someone else pointed in another topic, the middle east does stir up a lot of un-needed shit and is causing a lot more problems again. Seriously, they bring all this shit upon themselves.

The responses to this thread made me chuckle in a big way, props to all of you.

I would hope the same thing but...

I can't imagine under this administration high prices will spur much of any kind of growth that haden't already been planned and incentivized (is that a word?).

Personally i'm of the opinion our reliance on oil is much the same reason we haven't gone from paper to hemp. Too much lobbying, and besides we've still got trees. As long as it's out there we're going to rely on it, it makes too many people rich and has had a history of doing so for quite some time.

'Course there's not much fact to that, simply my take on it. Seems to fit wether i like it or not. :/

And yes, we should just go old testament on them and be done with it.

Maybe you should research before you talk? There are a specific few countries in the whole world allowed to possess nuclear capabilities. This is decided by the others who have it... Iran is an unstable warmongering country. To allow them nuclear capability would be BEGGING them to nuke the US.

I'm sorry, I think they'd make a better ground zero than the US.. (Hollywood however....)

Higher oil prices wouldn't go over well with voters.

Because Iran cares enough about the US to nuke it, yeah, the whole world east of europe hates America and would cause world war and risk themselves by nuking America. Its the cold war all over again except this time the US already have all the nukes and are threatening anyone who wants to get nuclear power generation capabilites for cheap and clean energy generation with a swift preemptive strike.

Even considering the worst, that Iran wants nuclear capabilities to make weapons. I'm not entirely sure I blame them. America, the most powerful nuclear weapon controlling country in the world, led by GWB, not the most all-together man in the entire world, considers them evil and not to be trusted, and also has seen what they have done to Iraq. Who wouldnt want to be able to defend themselves, or at least have something to deter the US from doing the same thing to them.

The US is far too paranoid for its own good at the moment, and is using its own nuclear superiority to bully smaller nations for having beliefs different to theirs.

Shouldn't go to the voters at all. Government has no business in the economy, even gasoline. Economy will fix itself in this case.
