Ohio St. vs Florida...

the kicker musta shown up for this game. 2/2 on field goals

Yeah no kidding, drilled two field goals from 40+ so I guess whatever was wrong with him, he fixed it.

Not like Florida needed it, this game wasn't even close. Still having trouble believing that actually happened.

just because a team goes undefeated through the normal part of a season doesnt make them the best. florida showed them who the better team was. it would be one thing if it were a close game, OSU could still have some viability in being considered the better team, but they were totally blown out and dominated.

Game was over in the first quarter, how pathetic was that? I enjoyed it.

i enjoyed it big time. nothing like a bunch of fans that thought they were unstoppable, literally crying because they were getting stomped on.
i loved the camera closeup of the couple people that were crying....classic!

this game was a combination of good florida play and horrendous osu play.

osu total yards-74. troy smith didnt quite look like heisman material

I live in Ohio and I am a big Ohio St fan..but their play was apsolutely pathetic and I really think they didn't take the game seriously enough.

It was really a dagger through the heart when the showed like a 5-6-7 year old kid balling out crying

Let me start by saying that I HATE Ohio State. That being said, I'm a sad panda today, as the BCS just got validated and a playoff system was pushed further back.

That and I'm sick of hearing how great the SEC is. Florida and LSU won their bowl games, but other than that, the SEC lost all year long when it played anyone outside their own conference.

I must say i enjoyed it... and I'm enjoying the $70 in my pocket too :)

sorry but the SEC does have the best teams in it. it is by far the most competitive conference around-- most of the times in it are very good teams and represents the hardest schedule in college football.

i also disagree that the BCS got validated because to me, it showed ohio state wasnt worth even being in the championship game.

SEC is just a different league... The whole league is basically a series of grudge games.

And not sure how this validated the BCS? Undefeated Boise State is ranked #5. And LSU which is probably on par or better than Flordia being rated #3 while OSU stays #2. Not to mention poor Michigan.

If anything this year showed how much more a playoff system is needed.

Auburn, georgia, kentucky, South Carolina also won.

tennessee, arkansas, Alabama lost.

Florida ranked #1, LSU #3, and Auburn #9.

SEC did pretty good for themselves.

that's what tends to happen when you play an awesome team. However, the team and fans wouldn't know that from their regular season schedule.

Go look at their season schedules then come back. It's hard to go undefeated in the SEC and most likely will not happen. That's why they don't get a shot at the national cahmpionship more often... Undefeated does not make you the best team and neither does one loss. This game proved, even further, that the BCS rankings system is garbage. Hell, the only way they could have looked decent, even, this year is if OSU would have one or *maybe* barely gotten beat.

Everyone knows the only Ohio St. game that matters is vs. Michigan, I stopped listening to the game after the first quarter, was just disgusting.

First off, it got validated because because now the BCS can say "See? Michigan lost their bowl game and Florida wiped the floor with OSU!" and totally forget how bad auburn was screwed 2 years ago or USC the year before that.

Secondly, the SEC is better? Says who? What says the SEC is better?

Did anyone else see the spread? I made 500 bucks! lol thank you FSU!

They beat Nebraska, Clemson, VT, and the almighty Houston. The VT win was impressive, but the others? Not so much.

I was not impressed with Florida all year long. They beat SC by the skin of their teeth, escaped Vandy with their lives, etc. Largely their games were boring to watch, with the exception of the SEC championship game, bu that had more to do with Arkansas than Florida. Last night, they won and deserve their props, but having watched both teams all year, it looked to me like OSU was just flat out sluggish and not the same team they were all year. Before people say it, it was not Florida making them look that way, it was something else. Just to reiterate, there is no team I despise more than OSU, so don't call me a homer either.

On a side and related note: How friggan stupid was it to have this game last night? What was wrong with Friday? or at least closer to every other game and before the NFL playoffs?

Another great overused quote from SEC homers. It's like this for EVERY team. That's why only Boise had a perfect season. Outside of OSU, ND and VT in bowl games, what good team outside of your own conference did you beat? The only 2 I can think that the SEC even played was UM and USC and they got spanked in both.

Granted, but you have to remember those bowls end up being teams that are evenly seaded in there conference.

When they pair up teams for these bowls, dont they usually do somethin like SEC #5 vs ACC #5? This year, the SEC had a pretty good record against other conferences in bowls. The 2 SEC teams to actually make it into the bsc bowls won. None of the big 10 teams in the bcs bowls won. Regardless, their needs to be a play off.
