old FPS games

[Chuash]

/em sigh

I'm still looking for games to play. So I thought... "Hey.. why don't I play a First Person Shooter? Oh yeah.. cause the most recent games that came out.. my computer won't take it.

Then I thought.. how bout the old ones? so I uploaded Unreal Tournament and it shows that I can play it.. So thats awsome..

So advice on which old FPS games are still good to play? Even if I can only play solo

If you want old, go with Duke Nukem 3D, and make sure you get the Atomic Edition for the addicting extra episode. Solo play is badass, and I heard it's possible to play it online now, but I never really looked further into that. Or, you can try Quake2. I am sure there are still a few servers running it out there.

I used to modd the hell out of unreal tournament and Quake 2 in high school.
4 way ctf with trinity, darth vader, neo, yoda, then entire dbz cast, blade, stormtroopers, homersimpson,mr burns, ect ect with excessive, matrixmoves, vampire, explosive ammo ect all in one almost small map. {fun} high schools are the best places to have giant lan parties during free time.
Edit: there were a few gundams tossed in there too.

Half-Life. Ran great with the crappy on board video I had in this thing before I upgraded it, not to mention there are tons of great mods out there for it. And unlike Half-Life 2, you can download games like Counter-Strike and stuff for free if you have just Half-Life, which you can find for around $10 or so.

Quake and Half life were my two favorite FPS' back when I was a wee PC nublet. Unreal has grown on me now though, and I play UT2k4 and Battlefield 2 whenever I'm not on FFXI (or don't have long enough time to spend on FFXI)
