OMG Girl!? WHERE!?!?

At first I thought men who played female characters were just wierd. The whole "I play a girl so I dont have to stare at a male ass all day" excuse just sounded to me like A) "I'm a homo-phob" or B) "I'm WAY too obsessed about ass". It still does, excluding a few exceptions. Then you have the guy that plays a girl character, leads people on, refers to themself as a 'she', even has people that know them irl refer to them as 'she' 'her' 'sister', etc etc. I think thats going a little over the line for the mere rpg scenerio. As soon as you incorperate RL, it crosses over from rpg to hella-creepy.

Then you have the person who says they picked it for the stats. And you can tell if they really did or not. Its usually the smart gamer who actually puts in thought processes into thier character as they are creating it, rather than go by appearance alone. Nothin' wrong with that in my opinion. My real life boyfriend plays a mithra. Which doesn't make my view biased, but it deffinatly proved to me that very manly men can still play a female character and be normal lol.

I think some people either put way too much thought into it and it gets blown out of perportion because they wish they were something they aren't, or some people just play the game and don't put in any psychologically based reasoning. It just depends on the person. :) Follow Sculli's advice and all will be balanced in the rpg world lol

I remember one time I was in the dunes with another girl and a "manthra" from my LS. Some guy in the party ended up asking us all out in /tell, so we ragged on him for the rest of the party. It was fun, but pathetic on his part.
He also aggroed a gob and just stood there next to us and died whilst we were all screaming ZONE ZONE ZONE (this was before the update where mobs go poof after person dies).

Girls without topless pictures should be banned from teh internets.

TITS or GTFO

always wondered how "married" life is in FFXI lOl.. how do they divorece/fight...
the whole falling in love with sum1 you really dont know is kinda sad to me..
But the guys who preten to be female characters is the saddest/wierdest part of ffxi to me... wtf either your a girl or a boy... i hate see'ing manthras act all girly in chat... specially when they start lying about their sex.. creeps me out.. hate it and its pathetic when theyre cought.. people need to stick to one gender/sexual preference lol... unless ur bi >.>; i dono

No thanks.
And I don't really want to see topless chicks anywho.

Im a guy...and I play a mithra...gogo manthra!

But really, I obviously see nothing wrong with guys playing female characters. Same goes with girls playing male. I act somewhat like a female in a way but I never openly say anything to identify me as a female. For instance I will talk normally and say things girlishly kike, but I will not openly say something that will tell I am a girl(like talk about my boobs I dont have or something). Of course if someone asks I tell them I am a guy too.

Also I get stuff offered to me at times and I always say, before accepting the item, "I am a guy you know". Generally they still give it to me for free(probally form fear of looking stupid or because they really are genuinely nice to people, you decide).

As for guys playing females and them being less perverted. Yeah I suppose for the most part this seems somewhat true. I personally wouldn't call myself a pervert, but I will joke aorund talking about sex(I don't mind joking around about it, but I really dont like talking about any sort of real sextual occurances/circumstances, though for some they don't know the differance).

EDIT: Just read another post and thought of this. I do refur to myself as a she in the game. Not because I am trying to fool anyone though, just i see a mtihra and say she...I call manthras I know she too, it is a girl in the game afterall. I have noticed in linkshell and /tells I don't say she though. It seems to be mainly a pt/shout/say/emote thing. But honestly for emotes it makes sense if you think about it. Actually now that I think about it, I dont say I'm a she in anything but emotes since...my character is a she not a he. In say/party/shout I wont say she, but if I am called a she I don'y always correct the person and say he. I guess I am just used to being called a she after all the years of playing. Hell in ls chat if someone said she I wouldnt correct them, just when guys start hitting on me, I make sure they know I am a he(sometimes they still hit on me knowing I am a guy (jokingly though) and then I do so back) XP

Thought of this after TonberryPrincess sent me a message in game the other day.

She was talking about how guys on FFXI get all pre-pubescent(sp?) and giddy whenever they see a girl. Maybe not the right choice of words...
Hmm...Immature???...Stupid???...Lamez0rz???

Anyway.
>.<

Every time I'm in a PT, we have at least 1 girl with us...
Which is great...I guess...For the kids/people/whatever who live on their computers and rarely get to see girls...

I forgot where I was going with this...
>.>
Wait...Hold on...

*thinks*

...

Oh yeah.
>.<;;

How often do you think guys will play the role of a girl on FFXI?
Not just choosing a Female character...
But actually ACTING like they are a girl IRL.

Does this disturb you?

General take on girls in the gaming world???

In my 6 person static, I look like a pimp. I'm the only guy in the static, character wise. Real life: 5 guys, 1 girl. Brother, Three Good RL Friends, Myself, and Sister-in-law. Yea? Yep.

Now, my one friend made a mithra and named it a perverted name "Puutah." The other made a mithra for the Agility purposes, naming it Katjara. The other friend named himself "Hollie" and made her kinda look like Hollie. Hollie is our favorite stripper at the all-nude club 20 miles away ( :nono: perverted? Only RL. Not IG  ) So I mean, it really is a select few of kids who haven't "Gotten their shit wet" yet, per say. If they're hitting on you through a game, it's because they can't get it IRL. That's my stand on it. And with that, I'd say start a savings account for "happy endings." There's a place in Arlington, VA that is great for that.

In my lower levels, I was given (not offered) money & gear by a couple different people because they thought I was hot. I took the stuff without a word and never spoke to the dudes again, but it goes to show how dumb some people really are.

Y'know, it is possible it was coincidence. I help out a lot of players, guy or girl. I don't care about it, I just figure helping them out isn't THAT difficult. I've helped get guy and girl characters a like up past the high level that I have now >_<;; though I do worry that the player thinks that I'm "hitting" on them. I know one of my loser RL friends hits on girls in games a lot though, and holy shit do I make fun of him. I had him ready to hit me the either day. I mean, I called women "hun" all the time. I call my best friends fiance hun, my sister-in-law hun. It's just something I do... so I do it in game sometimes, habitually. But this guy hits on them. -.-;; and I rip into him RL constantly for it.

GIRLS OMG!

But yeah i doubt there are as many girls playing guy characters as there is guys playing girls. Thats just my thought. On my first account i played with a dude who i thought was a chick for awhile (i only played to 25 so it was only like a month or so) and when i asked why he played a girl character he said "because id rather see a chicks ass walking around instead of a dudes" it made me lol.

"You spend 90% of the time staring at your character's ass, so i figured might as well be swingin a tail" Thats what i tell folks when they ask me why. But i have never nor will ever tell someone i am a girl in real life. But if kids dont ask, i dont go out of my way to tell them i'm a guy, let em have they fantasys. I dont flirt cyber or try to hit guys up for gil. The most i will do is call myself she in the third person, because otherwise thats just weird. I am a guy, Iso is a girl. F%cking get over it. All this manthra shite is tired... I prefer Mithrasbian. :nyam:

I guess my favoritism for female characters started with Chun-Li.
(Corner trap, nothing i'm proud of, but i wouldnt hesitate to use it) She was fast, female characters usually are. Katana in MK2, used to cut people up with those fans. Cammy, in another Street Fighter. Xianghua (i forget her name, might be Xiaosomethin) in Tekken, cause i dug swappin her style mid fight. Aaaaand Ivy in Soul Calibur, cause her blade is just crazy niiiiiiiiiiiice.

Also, if you look at a cat in real life, can you tell if its a male or female? no you cant, so dont tell me you can. (unless theres 4 kittens suckin on a teet)

and i guess thats it... </bow>

go on Gr2 on xbox live there are nice guys/girls on it cant fake sex as you talk

Yeah if VoIP was added for pts or more people had vent guys faking girl action would happen alot less. Unless there like 12 and you cant tell but at that age, who cares.

what about those dudes, with the high pitched voice or those girls with the manly butch voice? i dont have x box or anything but i remeber there being a voice mod with that no?

I once thought about making a female mule to see how many guys would give me gil/equip. I logged on one of my sisters mules in sandy naked and some dude walks up and starts sending me tells o.0.

Idk... I don't understand why guys give stuff to girls just cause there female or they think that they are.

Yeah lol like the 12 year olds lol. And yes xbox has voice mask but when its on you cant hardly understand the person, and usually everyone else who has a mic and can hear them is bitching for them to turn it off within like 2 seconds.

I made a mithra mule in windurst here and to be honest I get hit on and someone tried giving me 50k. I told them "Nah, this is my mule. I'm a dude, and I just wanted a mule out in windurst for cookin." and the guy /digust'd me and walked away. Kinda made me want to put his 14 y/o ass in detention.

yeah on halo 2 u can have a voice mod as an alien but not GR2

This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart becuse due to my character choice and job i get mistaken for female... alot. I have learned that if i am walking around town in my manteel and haidate i WILL get a tell for cyber (from people ive never met) because i am a mithra bard. Its rather annoying correcting all those people but i do correct every person. There are people in CK (ive been there for well over 8 months) who have thought that i was female as late as a week or two ago.

The reason i chose mithra was not cause i wanted to be a manthra but instead it was because my first job choice was thf and i still believe the idea that mithra make the best thfs.

I dunno. I created a female character on WoW though (only play it with my cousin), and I act female on it when I play together with her. Its fun messing with the guys, lol.

Nah just perverted, if we weren't it wouldn't be that much of a problem

First thing I thought of was this:
http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=155

I don't hide the fact that I'm a guy irl, I even call myself a manthra in game all the time. I got my first marriage proposal the other day, from someone I had never even met (to the best of my knowledge) I've never been asked for cybersex, never been given anything by a stranger worth any value.
