Ok so...Anyone else hit level 50 yet with their NPC? I've been level 50 with mine for awhile now, and it would seem either their EXP gap becomes a lot larger than the normal player, or they simply are really level capped...

Has anyone broken 50? I've had 3 or 4 EXP sessions now and STILL level 50(Mind you these are Easy Prey mobs to me...Level 55-58 I think). I'm beginning to think SE didn't intend us to come so far so fast and hasn't added anything beyond level 50 yet. If you are also stuck at 50, please post here. ; ;

It's possible they might not have intended for people to level it so fast. I doubt they're supposed to be able to go all the way to 75, so stopping at 50 seems like as good a place as any. But then, I might be wrong and they might introduce NPC genkai's or something.

Can you even pull them out in any area with mobs higher than level 60 anyway? The highest level mobs I could find were the EP to 75 tonberries in yhoator up on the temple entrance ledges. Leveling them to 75 getting 20 exp per kill, 30 kills per day would start to get rough.

Uleguerand Range. Leveled mine off Tigers and Rabbits at the entrance, and occasionally Buffalo to farm meat. You need Healer-type for this if you're a physical damage job, or you'll run out of time.

Exactly!

And this is as good as any time to catch up to Skaw. I stopped leveling my
NPC at Lv. 47 or so because I got engrossed on EXPing my BRD (Lv. 55
now, I just learned Mage's Ballad 2). But I'm getting back into the swing
of things.

Oh, never thought of there. I switched my little shantoto to healer type, and was unimpressed. Casting dia on stuff makes it tough for me to solo it with sleep bolts, and casting silence on thf type tonberries and meleeing reminds me of so many crappy rdm's I partied with. Not to mention I never once got a cure, and I was down around 750/1200 hp at the end.

. . .

hehe, your "healer" NPC's dont cure until you hit roughly 50% HP anyways. Mine would only cure me at around 730/1441.

and technicaly Bibiki Bay would work right? thats an out-door area.

Bad choice of mobs. Area attacks eat through NPCs(yay goblins,) and Dhalmel DEF down... NPCs can't cast Erase. I only fight Rabbits in Uleguerand if there are no tigers around, and whirl claws knocks off about 1/3 of my NPCs HP. Tigers do not lay a claw on my NPC, since the only things they do is AE Paralyze, Critical Damage, and Frontal Attacks. So just keep your NPC away from their face and they will never get hurt.

And whats your point about NPCs not curing until 50%? Mine usually drops a Cure IV on me when my HP is in the 900s, throwing me into the 1200s. That lasts a while when getting hit for as much as 63, and as little as 12(<3 Guard)

Also you're overlooking what else makes Healer-type great...
Haste

Party up with a real mage for constant heals for an NPC leveling session. NPCs do not need to be engaged to get exp for the fight, so they can just sit back and chill with theirs just standing around.

My NPC leveled up while being asleep before and after I killed the mob that caused it to level, so I know first hand they don't need to be fighting to get EXP.

Worms in uleguerand range it is. Since they don't attack a mob til I hit it with a melee swing, I don't have to worry about getting MPK'ed by my friend. Plus I can farm up some of that zinicite and make some putty.

I stopped lvling my NPC at 45 :|

Maybe I should pick it up again sometime >.>

Well, atleast yalls NPC can't be higher than my main. That would just be sad :cry:

My NPC just hit 38. Beating Lost Souls into oblivion can only be fun for so long. :?

uleggarand range is open to NPC invasions.... i know i saw JB and Algarius leveling theirs in there ^^;

:o I stopped leveling mine a few weeks ago, she's at lvl 40, probably could have been high 40's by now had I not been caught up in leveling Drk and Blm and Sam.. and oh wait, that's all ive leveled lately. :P
