well, my life is shit at the moment. No one wants me in the house. My dad hates me and has never been proud of anything I do. I try and try to gain his respect but nothing. He thinks I hate him and his landscaping company and that I dont care about either. I dont, but i really try to. My mom hates me. My sister thinks im crazy and they hate how I have my hair and the music I listen to, games, movies etc.. the only person that actually cares about me isnt even in the same state as me. my sister in the Navy does care about me, and thats it. no one else gives a fuck what happens to me. Basically, my question is, if I do run away from home, do my parents have any power to bring me back by law? Has anyone ever run away from home? Im scared to. I would kill myself, but im too much of a chicken shit to. Im planning to just gtfo of my life till april wen I join the Navy. Just now me and my dad had a huge discussion again, about how I am the worst child ever even thoguh I dont smoke, drink, or anything that is remotely negative. I dont know what the fuck they want from me. I leave them alone, yet they critizie everything I do and im never good enoguh for them and im tired of it. Im sorry for no paragraphs im jsut pissed at the momemnt. fuck them. if I do go away, I dont know what ill do, but I know my dad wont give a shit.

You might as well wait until you go to join the navy. Running away from home is a rather messy business and waiting a few months won't kill you....right?

Also, the whole killing yourself part. It seems like such a cop-out, I mean seriously. I have no respect for anyone who commits suicide (unless it has to do with some form of psychosis). Even if you don't think it now, someone someday will depend on you. And if you leave them then that would be just plain unfair.

If you are under 18 they can drag you back. Past 18 you are legaly an adult, you can go join the navy, or w/e it is you wish to do. My eldest brother did as much but my mother was his step mother whom he hated and our father had passed away so there was even less holding him back.

run away owns you can run away and become kool. i ran away once and wooooo it was fun. grab some friends and run away.you can live under a bridge and eat rats. mm mm good taste like chicken. and if you do decide to kill yourself you can do it painlessly by taking 100 tylenol tablets. or about 40 nyquils it'll knock you out and you never wake back up. ktybye

like Direwolf said, if you are 18, you can do w/e the fuck you want. If you arent 18 yet, your parents can get the police involed and drag your ass back home.
My suggestion...think LONG and HARD before you decide to just up and leave home. you got a job? is that job gonna support your for the time inbetween now and when you think you'll join the navy?

just make sure you cover your bases and dont do anything that would come back to bite you in the ass.

Actually you can leave home at 17, but I wouldn't suggest it. You can become legally emancipated. The reason I know this is because I left home at 17. Personally though, if you're still in high school, tough it out there kiddo. You'll feel much better later on in life if you do. And, get that diploma.

Parents can be a real bummer sometimes. Hell my mother and I still have issues, and I'll be 44 this month. The woman still likes to try and tell me what to do. The difference is I can now give her a hug and kiss goodbye and walk away with a smile on my face, cuz I know she can't hurt my feelings anymore.

I also believe that by her treating me the way she always has, I've been a better parent to my daughter, Heather. So, later on in your years, you will perservere.

PS. Suicide is NOT an option!!! Even thinkin' about it, you should be tarred and feathered  .

You know i hate to sound like trishia or something but did you ever consider the problem IS that you are leaving them alone? You say your parents hate you because they think you hate them...is that because you don't talk to them? I would at least give that a try (if you haven't already) before running away.

Btw suicide = bad idea

I don't think running away is a much better option either...i fail to see how having to support yourself for an extra couple of months can be better than putting up with some shit from your parents.

I always found the trick with my parents was just talking to them honestly...sure i'm not perfect but i try (sometimes :P) and they respect that sorta...i think i am probably the only teenager in the world who gets on with their parents :x

I feel your pain. My mom was manic depresive, and my dad was an asshole that tried to disown at the age of 14 for throwing a small party when they were out of town.

By the age of 16, I had moved out, and was working a full time job. Yes, they could have brought me back, but why would they?

If your in that bad of a spot maybe you can stay at a friends house, at least for a while. In TX 17 is a legal adult, not sure about where your from however.

Don't run away from home.

I used to think that that would sove things, but it really doesn't. As people have said, they do have the power to take you back if that was their intent. Also, you say your parents hate you. They had you, they kept you, they might say they hate you, but I don't think that's the case.

They might make your life a living hell and say they hate you, but maybe you should question them sometime. Be calm, and ask them, "Why do you hate me?" And try your best to get THEM to think about their reasons for doing this, and hell, it could be because their parents had said that kind of thing to them. Don't yell, just talk rationally.

Don't try to gain their acceptance. You don't have to do that kind of thing, you are you and regardless of if they accept it or not, you shouldn't have to change for them because you don't seem to have any problems that might be causing someone harm.

For a while, my parents didn't accept the fact that I might want to dye my hair red, purple, or blue or something like that. But I told them, it's not hurting anyone. So I dyed my hair and that was that. If my mom tried to yell at me for dying my hair, I told her "But you dye your hair, might not be the same color, but you still do it." I didn't get angry, but I made a point.

The best thing you can do is stay out of trouble, and just be yourself. They might look back on it later, and realise that they shouldn't have acted towards you that way.

Ah the good ol' days of puberty.

Running away: Don't run away, not worth it, trust me. I won't get into details but you'll end up A: running back with your tail inbetween your legs giving your parents another reason to treat you like shit, or B: fucking yourself up for life. You ever been to jail? Jail is heaven compared to living on the streets.

Suicide: Complete pussy maneuver. 2 years ago a good friend of mine hung himself and my brother found him. I wanted to spit on him in his fucking grave for being such a selfish prick. My brother still has nightmares.

Crazy kids these days.

This isnt funny and It's completely honest. Which seems to be what you need, honesty.

Honestly I can't say I've wanted to run away, I'm from a broken home and I have contemplated suicide, but I never thought it would solve the problems, it would just remove me from them (and to where?). So my suggestion to you is: Keep your mouth shut, do what they say until your in the navy, and never think to hard on what they say. There ARE sicotic people that arent in institutions, your parents good be those people. Look at yourself, I can garauntee your a product of their upbringing just remember to think before you act and try to be more rational than the people around you.

Oh and please dont ever have kids, people tend to act just like there parents did when they have kids.

What a stupid comment. Please stop talking.

Not everyone follows that pattern. That would be the person's choice when they come to it.

And Chpal... sorry to hear that youve gotten to such a point. Ive had some rough times in my life(right now is one of them)... but honestly, not as tough as what it sounds like your going through.

My advice would be to stick things out. I know it doesn't sound like much coming from someone who isn't in your position.... but it's the best option. Once you get out on your own, things will obviously get much better. It may suck... but just wait it out. Don't put yourself at a disadvantage.

I hope things work out for the best. Good luck with everything.^^

I'm with Sanoske. You need to take a breather and think things out. There are too many consequences for what you are thinking about doing. Everyone has their bad time, and we all need to sit it out.
I always think of dying. I always feel like jumping out the window or blowing my mother fucking brains out. But you know what? It's not worth it.

YOU HAVE SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR. We all do. You said you were going to join the Navy. You sir; would not only be serving your country, but also protecting the innocent back at home. The smallest, most insignificant things that you do can affect others in a great way. The Navy will give you the training and foundation you need to build a better life. From there, you can probably get some sort of aid for college, get a degree, and obtain a career in something you enjoy.

The possibilities are endless. There is so much you can do. Please don't kill yourself, because it would be such a waste. Running away will just make life worse in general. You said a while ago that you had high respect for your parents. Just one more year, and then you'll wish you were back home.

Keep yer' head up. :D This is just a minor set back. :o

Chpal. Go read what I posted on your last thread.

Life is rough as a teenager. Things will change. If they don't, when you are 18, join the navy and leave home.

Congratulations!!!

You get the Official "Dumbass of the Month" award.
Even though it may seem odd for someone to post a cry for help in a game forum, it still remains that, a cry for help.

Take your ignorant excuse for humor elsewhere.
That is all.
