Once again IGE out of gil for Quetz

Have your parents take an economics course and explain to them opportunity costs. They will praise you and raise your allowance for being a smart consumer.

oops I mean other way alway >.> I just woke up recenty, not function well lol

fake money for real money -> real money for fake money, sorry my mistake lol

I belive what you are trying for is this: "if they found out I bought fake money with real money"

Anyway, I understood what you meant when I posted and my comment still stands. Teach them about opportunity costs and they will praise your decision to buy gil.

Could be a scam by IGE! Who knows? Maybe some people are actually getting annoyed with gil buying and their sales are going down? So they are making it seem like they are out and doing good so people will freak out and start buying whenever they post something up?

Just a thought!

Well, maybe people want to know what they're up against when they go and check out the sites.

Also, it's just sad to see so much gil sold... like a drug... you start to rely on it...and it'll take all your money away and you aren't capable of doing anything..lol.

STOP BUYING GIL YOU LOSERS!!!!!

Do constructive things with your money not piss it away! Isn't 15 a month (considering mules) enough? My car needs a good rust fix, can I have your money?

Actually, if they followed your advice everyone should buy gil. Considering the opportunity cost of farming/grinding your own gil, you are 'pissing away money' by wasting time gil grinding. You can't just look at the initial cost, you must also consider the cost of giving up the alternative. The opportunity cost for example of attending college is more than tuition and books, it is also the cost of the lost work opportunity for those 4 years.

Oppose RMT because it is against the rules or takes away from the gameplay. Do not try to argue against it by saying it is a waste of money. That is actually an argument to buy gil.

My guess for it only being Quetz who's out of gil is that someone actually bought all the gil, unfortunately. At first I thought it might be a way to raise the price, but then why aren't other servers doing the same? I suppose we could be a test server, but it would make sense to apply it to a few servers, not one.

Also, I doubt SE has killed any IGE accounts because we'd see more effect across the servers.

My friend and I farmed over 150M in the past 5 months in this game. Do the math. Roughly $60CDN for both accounts + $40CDN for internet bill.

So technically $500CDN gave us 150M and a helluva lotta fun in the past 5 months.

During those 5 months I worked full time for approx 2-3 months until our job was finished. I was still able to hunt 2 THF knives and 2 Peacock Amulets. Please don't say that because some asshole has a job, that this asshole has the right to buy gil. Or else I consider you an asshole, for condoning RMT.

RMT. Too. Weak.

RMT IS A WASTE OF MONEY.

Now scuse me, I just turned 21. I'm Canadian but Im still gonna go drink my face off like an American turning 21. Cheers.

Where did I say they have a right? I even provided two arguments against RMT in my post. What I am pointing out is that RMT is not a waste of money. You fail to understand opportunity costs. In addition, you are something of an oddity. Few have the ability to get 2 thief knifes and earn so much gil. My god ls didn't even bring in 150mil total in the last 5 months. We are more casual than most, but all the same you are not a good example of average gil earning. Your amount is also worthless without including the time spent doing it. Was it 1 hour a day, or 10 hours a day? We would need to know how many hours total for a proper comparison.

The bottom line is for example spending 10 hours gil grinding, you just gave up 10 hours you could have done something else. You must consider your next best alternative. You could have spent 5 hours working a real, buy more gil than you would have earned in the 10 hours, and then spend the other 5 doing something more fun than gil grinding (and don't pretend those don't exist). Call gill buyers cheaters, say it takes the fun out of the game, say whatever you want, but you can not call it a waste of money.

Who are you talking to, and who are you arguing with? I hate these threads for all the bullshit people post. It's always 20+ people acting all pissed off saying the same thing as though they were arguing with one another. Seriously, we all get it, we all know that buying gil is cheating, and anyone who is doing it is unlikely to argue with you. So instead we get 20 people screaming (every fucking time!) about how bad RMT and all the negatives and how so and so GS MPK'd someone and how awsome we all are for getting drops on our own and not buying gil and how "imaginary friend C" bought gil and they suck.

Shut up. There is no one arguing, just people ranting the same shit they do every time someone even mentions IGE, RMT, or GS. Not that I dont agree, but stfu about it, its over.

Bigboy Buys Gil!

(Did you know if you reply in all caps it automatically changes it? I did not know that. and i'm joking about Bigboy btw.)

The one thing you do not account for is the time you spend in game. Ballpark, between the two of you, how many total hours did you play in 5 months?

During those 5 months, Scwall worked full time and is still working full time. He would only play the game after a full 6-10hr day of work. I worked 2-3 months of those 5 months.....So lets say roughly 1.5 months were spent playing FFXI opposed to 3.5months where I was working/sleeping/out of the house.

It's not that hard.

1.5 months = 45 days = 1080 hours = $10,800 @ $10 per hour. Yeah, you really came out on top by gilgrinding instead of working and buying gil.

This is out of a 5 months period. He claims to have gil grinded for 1.5 months of out of 5. If the 1.5 months is wrong, don't look at me. I'm just working with what he says.

Asshole, I didn't work for those 1.5 months because I took a well deserved break after finishing a very large scaled job for an old folks home. During that break we received our 2nd knife, so peace!

I really came out on top, you're correct about that. However, your sarcasm needs more material than that.

You're saying that I should be working 24/7 and this game totally revolves around money. So I shouldn't waste my time farming and only buy gil because it is a waste of real money and time otherwise?

Fawk that.

I'm not recommending you buy gil, only you said that. I'm just explaining how it is not a waste of money. You should try reading my origonal post you responded to. If you did, you would see I said you could take a fraction of the time you spent gil grinding, put that towards a real job, buy way more gil you would have got grinding, and then do something more fun than gil grinding (watching paint dry for instance).

Just to explain further you earned 75 mil (150mil divided between you and your partner) for yourself from 1.5months of gilgrinding. That would have cost about $700 US. Earnable in two weeks @$10 per hour or one week @$20 per hour.
During that break we received our 2nd knife, so peace!
What relevence does that have to the discussion at hand? Bragging? Attempt to justify your time spent?
