I love the new eco friendly macs where they say they are environmentally friendly and can be recycled like a regular item because they don't contain toxins or what have you. All I could think was "cool, you can throw it in the garbage when it pisses you off"

I wouldn't even say that. Anything a Mac can do, a PC can as well. Anything a PC can do, a Mac can't without a Windows emulator since a lot of companies just don't write software for them because of their lack of relevance in the market. Mac has been reduced to a status symbol long ago. And as far as practical use goes, it's a pretty worthless one. It's the ultimate icon as far as paying more for less goes. They're claims of security and being virus free isn't solely due to superior coding - it's also because virtually every virus writer and hacker simply doesn't give a shit.
