one year has passed...

There is a way you can cast on them, but can only really cast some of the fast spells. As DRK, I cast spells in this order:

Stun
Absorb-TP
Aspir or Drain, or some weak spell. (I use aspir just to get MP back)

The results are, the Colibri will be stunned, and while stunned cant cast jack, so then hit it with another spell. After it isnt stunned anymore, it will cast stun... At around this time, the third spell should be cast. The Colibri will only recast the first and second spell, leaving the middle one uncast. The spells have to be very close together though. All the spells I used are like .5-3 second cast time.

Yeah you could do that...or if you have a job in your party with the ability to cast silence just do that instead...

the resist silence well...

I've tried that before

QFMFT!

I hate those bastards

i'll dread doing that blu quest where you need one of their silks >_>

are they soloable by any 75 jobs? the weakest ones i've seen are like 80-82(according to wikipedia)

I soloed that quest last year as SMN and it went ok. You can solo the weakest ones with SMN, the job is very powerful (untill you run out of MP lol).

I remember a RDM casting Silence on one, it resisted and Silenced me (PLD).

Yes, that did happen occasionally in the party I was in two nights ago too, the whm and myself eventually just started rotating elemental seal silences. Not exactly efficient but it was better than me just sitting in the party attempting to back-up heal constantly.

Follow you around if you trade them Veydral Wrasse (sp?)

yea they follow you for a long time ( many RL days). They can even go through the whole zone to meet you if you are at the other end.

there are 4 species of apkallus, 2 of which i know what you need to trade. the ones near arrapago escape zone, trade them ahtapots. the one on dahak island you trade Weydal wrass (sp). idk what you trade in the one at Mount Z escap point or those VT ones in arrapago (emperor apkallus).

pro: pay taru, w.turban, divisor ring, exp bonus, yigit gomlek, amir boots, hauteclaire, corsair (rubystar <3), the various low level hmp+ / enchantment equipment, mezraq

con: whitegate, amenisa, food stealers, free taru, puppetmaster, beseige, AH manager always gone, runic portal door (christ SE, leave this door always open for the love of god)

QFT, someone needs to prop that damn door open! ><

To avoid restating a lot of the previous stuff ...

Pro:

Besieged for easy and fast enhancing skillups.

Fun and interesting Assaults (breed Apkallu! murder hundreds of uber wimpy mobs!) for those with the organizational skills to get past the incarnation of luck-based annoyance that is PSC Assaults.

Maintaining a complete map collection is a piece of cake.

Con:

People now turn up their noses at exping in signet areas 55+, even if sanction areas are so crowded that the "uber exp camp", which they insist on going to anyway, gives 2k/hr due to lack of mobs to pull.

There's a shocking number of 75 BRDs out there (many sporting nice expensive shiny manteels) who can't keep chain when they should be able to (with competition, that's fair enough, but I'm talking without competition), maintain buffs, land debuffs, or ever touch their subjob.

con- making the drop rate of salvage pieces even less then that of dynamis

pro- making alot of items ra/ex

con- making the amount of money nms smaller and smaller.

Yes, let's all go back to those awesome 3k/hour Bibiki Bay parties! People are crazy for wanting to go out and get 2 merits in one hour of exp!

3k an hour? what gimps did you exp in bibi with? :shok:

i agree with ruffi that cannons have ruined the game. and the reasons why have been stated several times. yes we all know cannons existed prior to ToAU but they were never the standard expected type of party like that are now. and that has warpeed the perceptions of the lower lvl players comming into the game. and greatly reduced their quality.

prior to ToAU if you looked for a rdm you wanted a refresher and debuffer. now the vast majority of rising players seem to think a rdm's job is to main heal. cause they are great for cannon parties.

jobs are being boxed into their easiest, spammable role cause of cannons. and that, to me, is the biggest con of this expantion.

this comment is retarded. plenty of NA's could do that. gtfo with the jp this jp that.

90% of my NA pt suck. 90% of JP pt are good

Reversed for me. But then again i hand pick the people i exp with and almost never seek.

I'd have to say it's 50/50 for both. I've pt'd with more shitty Jps then good ones.

I second this notion.

I'm mostly in JP LS's and I will positively say that there are just as many gimps on both sides of the fence.

NA's tend to be more obnoxious in the towns though. :P I will say that much. Well, with the chatting in shout about stupid shit. But then again, JP players need a 6 line macro just to say "I want to do KS30 ODS. We have 2 people. We need 4 more. Wanna come?"

lol I don't know I see a awful lot of Japanese charaters in town who knows what they are saying:spiteful:

As for NA party being not as good as JP party I say it pretty equal. However, we notice more the NA gimps because about 60% of the JP community wont play with us.

You must get a lot more JP invites than I do. :P

60% is much higher than I'd give them credit for.
