Hello guys, apologies for the Out Of Charater post but I want to ask some questions. I havent as of yet joined FF XI but shall be within the next 2 days (18/9/06) So I would like some heads up.

Which is the best server to find roleplay on? If there isnt a specific server perhaps a specific 'place' on the servers?

Are their any new and upcomming 'hardcore' roleplay linkshells I may enroll in?

What is the rest of the commune like toward RPers? Do they merely work around the RP or do they try and ruin the fun?

Again I apologize for the OOC post and I shall be making a IC one in the neat future. Thanks to all who answer my questions.

There are a few RP shells around on Quetz- or were at one point anyways. I never really run into them for the most part so they may or may not still exist. I'm sure you'd find an equal chance of getting a RP shell on any server, so maybe just browse around and see if you can locate some websites via forums like this one.

Seems to be less RPing in FFXI than there was in EQ though. Not really sure why.

As far as community reaction goes:

Some people may laugh. Some think its really cool and take part in it themselves. Nobody will hold any ill will towards you as a player though. Character and ability will determine how you're welcomed into the Quetz community at least, not whether or not you RP.

I personally don't care what RP people say or do here as it doesn't affect what I do in any way whatsoever (its kinda fun to see really, people should do it more often for pure entertainment value). "Hail" me and i'll "hail" you back matey, if that's your cup o' tea. If you say "M'Lady" and "Har" and all that to make killing stuff more fun, all the power to ya :P

I do the odd battle shout cry roaring thingie so ya, lol nice thanks man, If I cant find a suitable RP linkshell on a server i was thinking of opening my own, so if anyone is wanting to team up, again PM me, I'd rather see you ICly aswell, to know your skills in RP and all.

Also, out of wondering since I've seen them metioned on the forums quite a bit, who/what are the RMT/RTM? something along those lines?

Real Money Traders. Make real money off of the gil in-game.

Wonder if anyones ever pointed out the 'job' section in their local paper?

Alright, im on FFXI now on the server Asura (?) Can someone please point me in the irection of a place where I amy find Roleplayers or if anyone else roleplays there could they lend a hand?

Well I doubt anybody will be able to help you in fidning any players/Linkshells or anthign like that for RPing on Asura. Mainly because this is where the players on Quetzalcoatl are. You should Google an Asura server forum, you should be able to find help with that kinda thing on Asura there.
