Well since I quit ffxi a few of you know I went back into image design and poked and proded at my education. Well tonight I decided I would start on my image design site and was looking for some opinion on what I should use? I made both the 2nd sample I just added some cosmetics to it,

I like #1, it's more professional looking and cleaner :D

I meant to vote number 1 but hit the wrong button. Sorry doing several things at once.

Option 1. 2nd one looks like someone eating spaghetti with their hands got a hold of your menu. Oh and the first one looks cleaner, just like Sabia said.

Out of the 2 I like #1 better, but for a design site I would have to say that both are pretty basic. Design sites should be a showcase of your artistic talent and thus should be something very original and unique. I would keep at it and really try and get creative with your design. I don’t mean to be a jerk I am just being honest so you can have a kick ass site.

I agree that 1 is more clean and professional, and should probably be used for the site. However, I am really more of a bloodied razors and broken glass kind of guy. So I like 2 better.

I like #2 better because #1 looks too plain. #2 has what I call pizazz. It stands out more than #1. #1 says to me, "Hey, this is my site..and...look at my stuff, PLEASE! I BEG OF YOU! ~_~"

While #2 is says to me, "HEY! THIS SITE KICKS ASS! LOOK AT THIS CRAZY AWESOME CRAP! WOOT!"

I kind of like 2, but I think the green on the buttons is too much. Maybe number one with a more subtle version of the "blood splatter" effect on it?
