I am curious, I just went through the Ironman topic and added spoilers for any plot details. I personally avoided reading the topic until I saw the movie because I didn't want any spoilers. I was just wondering if people want the spoilers in these topics, or if the topics should be "de facto" for the people that have already seen the title's topic at hand.

This isn't for a rule or anything, just public opinion. If the result is a positive yes, then people can add the tags. If it is no, I will unsticky and consider it business as usual.

Spoilers would be nice for a week or two after the movie's release.
After that anyone who wanted to see the movie should've already.

i usually avoid these topic till i see the film as well. one movie got spoiled for me just for highlighting the topic with my pointer. that was before the
Spoiler:
thing was added. sans starting a "we should be able to post where ever we want" war i think these topics should be spoiler locked. at least a few weeks afterwards like Xalion said.

IMO, once a movie is out of theatres, it should be okay not to mark spoilers. For games, especially RPGs, it should also be a few months until people stop marking.

I also try to avoid the topics until I see said movie/show/game/etc. It would be nice if people would be courteous enough to add the spoiler tags so that you can get some reviews without having it ruined for you.

Yes for new movies.

First off, thank you. I saw it the first day it was released but I still appreciate it. I was thinking the same thing as I read the thread.

This sounds reasonable. Two weeks might still be a little soon as some other people mentioned. Some people might wait 2 weeks to see it if the movie is very popular and/or there are a lot of good movies out about the same time. I'd say at most a month wait on not using the spoiler tags.

For the record, Rhodey being War Machine in the sequel is not a spoiler. It's in nearly every Terrence Howard interview. Just like how Harvey Dent is Two-Face in the new Batman franchise, it's common knowledge, not spoilers. I don't even read any of these comic books, so clearly that isn't the case.

If you go to a video game message board to read posts about a movie, and you don't expect there to be spoilers, then you're deluding yourself. If you want to find out about a movie before you go to see it and you don't want anything to be spoiled, just visit the official website and look for trailers.

I think spoilers should be marked regardless.

Sure we expect to see them, but sometimes is good to get an opinion to see if whatever the movie/game in question is worth your time and money.
On a forum you get to know different personalities, so their opinions may weigh more or less then what the critics or even reveiw magazines say.

I say yes to both Because I like see what people thought of the movie sometimes before I see it but, don't want good part spoiled.
