Opinions please

Ok people, need some opinions on what to do with lvling my WAR sub at 60PLD.

My options are:

WAR/MNK with Great Sword.

Take WAR somwhere and level Great Axe and be WAR/MNK with GA.

WAR/THF with Great Sword/Great Axe.

Level NIN to 18, buy Utsusemi, afford Shihei, and skill up Axe 1-100, and go WAR/NIN.

I know that most people will either say to go WAR/NIN or WAR/THF with GA but I'm not doing anything over what I need to do to be a good DD/tank.

Honestly. If you're only subbing Warrior, I'd say you just go with the generic style.

Do war/nin. Most ppl like it best. Skill up ur axes. Too bad you cant a pld though as i did with my drk. (I love rubbing it in his face) :twisted:

It's a shame war/mnk no longer gets any respect. That combo is a fantastic tank up to 37 at least (and even through the 40's it works fine).

I went warrior/monk using great axe/axe. Powerful fun combination I thought. made me want to continue on with warrior. 8)

I've actually been taking WAR/THF for a ride to level my sub. Honestly, it was out of being too lazy to level NIN higher or MNK at all to sub to it, and THF is already leveled. I had heard SOME good about it, but knew nothing first hand. I skilled my GAX up to full potential, and guess what? SA + Sturmwind with decked out gear is doing 200-280 damage consistently on weapons. So I'm happily sticking with my WAR/THF to DD til 37. ^^ Give it a shot if you wanna do damage instead of tank.

I'm a War48/Mnk24. I DEMAND respect with my 9 billion spamable abilities, massive HP boost, and Great Axe <3 <3 <3

war/nin also helps take awya the boring grind of lvling war

Whenever I lvl my war I usually sub nin for the dual axes or do an axe/small sword (+2 Dex). Its a good DD I think in my opinion anyways.

Who says you cant use Gaxes with nin sub? Most career wars that use nin sub use both Gaxe and Axe. ^^

If you dont have a really good source of income, don't bother with war/nin to only 37. It's just your sub and you shouldn't have to shell out thousands of gil per exp session just for your sub. That said, I'm lvling warrior/ninja to 37 only because I am really really bored with my generic form of tanking (smack smack smack provoke smack smack smack). If you have the income and the patience (for dealing with assholes in the dunes while also lvling a complicated job) take war/nin.
