Otakon 2008 anyone?

I want to try and go, it all depends on how much $ I have at the time lol
 
I've never been to any kind of convention...although I've always wanted to attend one. The reason I never go is because to be honest I'm one of those people that never quite looked as though I fit the "scene". My fellow enthusiasts always tend to look at me as though I'm an outsider even when I'm in the anime isle. Its weird because I have a pretty insane library of anime and knowledge of it that I never get to discuss with people lol. Not like I can bust out with it in my ice hockey locker room; "Hey guys can you believe that they introduced an annoying character like Chika Ogiue into the series via the OVA and then made her a staple in the second season of Genshiken!?"

But I really wanna go, I think I just need to meet up with some folks there so I don't feel soo alienated. My friends here are not the sort that like anime or associate with otaku-like folks so there is no way I can convince any of them to come along lol. I hate being the odd man out...but I guess this what happens when you have wide horizons as my mom used to tell me =P.

So if any of you folks wants to meet up there I'm willing to get my plans set and work out the travel details to make it a mini vacation.

Depending on my housing and monetary situation, I should be there. Last year was the first year I had missed in a while.

Is it just going to be in one place? Or will it be in different cities around NA? If so do you know a site I can get the stop locations, because this would be something I'd be interested in going to... Although like Taku, I have 0 friends who like anime well actually they hate it lol.
 
Where is it this year? I went to it a couple years ago when it was in Maryland.
 
its in baltimore, aug 8-10th. Sano, Bobby, if yall need a place to crash, yalls welcome at my crib. i'm like 15min outside b-more. Lyrai can come too, but last i checked she mad with me...

Oh man a hotel in the area looks like is going to be hell to book since all of them on that list are sold out already.

people cosplay everything at anime cons, not just anime characters. Go for it!
 
I'd love to go again, but don't think it is going to happen this year. August is a long ways away though, so who knows. ^^

Myself and my girlfriend (Pinkubara) will definitely be going. We've only missed "half" an Otakon in like... 10 years. (Went Saturday only back in '02. Had work the other two days.)
