I didn't even have an item equipped. Was very close. Like 4 or 5 chocobos crossing one after another in a huge mass of feathers.

Now I have to wait a week. :(

I bet every GS on the server will breed a choco now for that 12.4k/week they can earn lol

Well, It's not 12.4k a week. First place is 10,000 gil base, +3% of the money bet on your chocobo. My chocobos stats attracted a lot of betters, so I got a pretty hefty boost to my prize money.

It also varies depending on race class. Theres 4 of them, 1-4, the lower the number, the more difficult, but the bigger the payout.

I see :D Never did raise a choco though. Im asuming you need your own chocobo to compete hehe
 
You do need your own chocobo to compete directly, Akron, but not necessarily to join in on the racing fun. I met up with Skaw briefly on the racetrack ... I was a little too doubtful about my own chocobo's physical abilities to let her try racing herself. I did, however, hazard a chance on betting on complete strangers:

That was my very first bet, mind you, EVER. I had literally just walked out onto the track. Of course, I lost half of my winnings on my very next bet -- still, I ended up walking away 10,000 gil wealthier.

It makes things more exciting to have your own chocobo, of course, but even if you've donated all of yours to KFC, come and join in on the chocogoodness. It's a gambling addict's paradise. Congratulations on your win, Skaw. I hope to see you around the tracks again. ^_^

My current chocobo is the slowest pile of useless ever.

That being said, I'm totally racing today. See you at the finish line. (From the starting gate, where my Special Olympics chocobo will still be standing.)

It probably wouldn't be that profitable. They would have to wait weeks just to brake even for raising a medicore chocobo, much less a really good one that actually has a chance at winning.
 
My Chocobo won its first race too :biggrin:

I got 11600g for the victory.. plus another 16k from the bet I placed on my own chocobo, and the 2nd place one.

I used that Cloth saddle, and it brought my DIS down from Average to a Bit deficient for the race.. I also used a speed apple, and I was several lengths in the lead when I won.

My chocobo's stats are 8/5/4/3 right now, not capped.

Interesting that there are new items "R Chocotrain: STR" and "Chocotrain: STR" I wonder if the Racing Chocotrain tokens will allow you to boost an already retired chocobo, and/or allow you to break the total stat cap.
 
Heh. I entered RedGirl in a race and came in dead last. Clearly, more practice is needed.

Thanks for a very serious answer to something that was obviously a joke :D

To Winklewil, gambling is way too addictive.
Imma stay far away from the racetrack and keep to crafting wich all skill and doesnt depend on luck at all ;) lol
