Pandemonium Warden - Round III

hah.jpg

EPIC!
what the fuck is this?!

I think the trick to PW is to "light" his lamps by casting fire based spells on it and then he will have his true form revealed when he is put into the light!

Ahahaha I had to.

Burn, dammit, not Fire. Burn!

SCH/BLM --> Accession+Burn lolz

Man, did I get a shock when I opened the newspaper only to see the article was about Pandemonium Warden.

That's right, the 18-hour fight is in one of Sweden's largest newspapers.

LOL now starts the media feeding frenzy

I wonder if SE will fire the designer of this as a way to say "We're sorry!" to the fanbase.

No, they'll make a video that makes you guys say, "Why didn't I think of that..."

Accession is light arts you'd need manifestation silly taru!

Sorry it was bugging me strongly for some reason :(

On a completely unrelated note about SCH and gettign annoyed, it kept bugging me to no end that someone on ffxiclopedia kept changing Klimaform back to Enhancing Magic without any proof that it was Enhancing Magic....

Which made me VERY happy to see this message,
" Klimaform gives dark magic skill ups. I just received one as my dark magic isn't capped on my scholar. --Demonicpagan 23:08, 6 August 2008 (UTC)",

as I've been saying since before May this year it is impossible for it to be Enhancing Magic...

The past two weeks have seen considerable feedback from players regarding the amount of time required to combat the Pandemonium Warden, a recently implemented Notorious Monster (NM). Discussion has spread significantly throughout forums, and it has become apparent that this is indeed an issue of major unrest in the community.

We would like to assure players that the development and management teams place a high value on their feedback, and the issue has since been taken under serious consideration. Together with Absolute Virtue, it has been deemed that the combative techniques for weakening these NMs are too difficult. As a result, some players have engaged these enemies using unanticipated methods which led to extended battle times. It is by no means the desire of the development team to see players involved in encounters that require an excessive amount of time and effort to complete. It was for this reason that previous measures were put into practice which prohibited NMs from being held in battle for prolonged periods. In response to these events, we have determined that further alterations are required to prevent such battles from exceeding a certain predetermined length of time.

Included in the version update scheduled for early September will be modifications to the degree of difficulty of Pandemonium Warden (and associated pets), Absolute Virtue (and associated pets), and Jailer of Love. The aim of these changes is to create battles where a decisive outcome may be reached within a shorter period of time.

The development and management teams would like to take this opportunity to express their commitment to a healthy and wholesome game environment for players everywhere to enjoy, and to thank them for the continued feedback.

In other words, they aren't making the NM's any easier, they are making them rage even harder to kill you faster when you aren't "doing it right". Am I mistaken?

How is this hard to understand?

Could they add rage timers? Maybe, but that isn't directly said. The adjustment to their difficulty, though is directly said.

Bumping but for good reason. A LS was able to fight PW and make substantial progress on him. However, after 2 hours he despawned. They handled lamps with 2 RNG parties + 2 BLM parties. Lamps also became more difficult as they progressed through forms. As far as the forms go, there is speculation some of the forms were removed:

Spira said:
if thats true then it probably seems like the serpent generals and besieged mobs were removed entirely (which seems fine, they were totally out of place)

4 Chariots > 3 Beastmen Kings > Hydra > Khim based on the most recent pop..

Vampyr may or may not have been removed, because he isn't really in the same grouping as the 3 HNM fiends... but he appeared before the ToA fiend HNMS with BtLs pop. Doesn't seem to be the case for the recent LS. If he's not grouped together with them, he might have been omitted. If he is, they maybe he hasn't appeared yet.

In any case, it seems like with a strong proper setup PW may actually be killable within 2Hrs without having to figure out his gimmick. Then again theres a possibility that they didn't adjust the final PW form itself and only the imitation forms. 1 bad wipe from him alone could put all the effort and time taken to get to him to waste due to the 2hr limitation. the multiple astral flow thing is also no joke.

The final form will be what makes or breaks it, if all lamps are astral flowing repeatedly compiled with a full restoration of HP (which is what happened at hour 18 before) then this is still going to be extremely difficult.
Edit: Credit to BG's PW thread for a lot of the info, read it Here

PW fight.

They were able to get to the Warden form but most of their shell was weakened from Khim and it eventually depopped.
