That would be fine with me, and I'm sure Icewolf would appreciate being able to name his pet "FatCoq.""
On a serious note, I dont think NM's and/or HNM's will be available for use. Only the normal family mobs

*Waits for someone to make a pokemon opening using FFXI mobs*

At least part of it seems be. If you looked at some of the datamining Uzor did earlier it says something about fighting against other adventurers' mobs
You all seem to be misunderstanding it a bit. You can catch the Cerberus enemy type, noty Cerberus himself. Basically, you take a "photo" of Cerberus, which is then projected as a kind of 3D-image on to the battlefield (if you've ever done CBG you'll know what I mean, its in the same place). Its not the monster itself, its an image of it kind of. So he won't have Meteor and Comet like the NM do. It will have the same abilities, but not spells.

It depends, they are also very weak to magic, and die fast that way. So teamed up against any other BLM enemy, or something with magic attacks, they'd be screwed. Against normal melee-type pets, they'd have a slight advantage though. Also, you set a "weapon damage type" to your mob, so your crab can have either blunt, slashing or piercing. If that's not enough, you can also set an element affiliation to your weapon type, so that every melee attack do 25-50 damage. So Slimes wouldn't be all THAT useful in those situations either. You can also set so that they give Amnesia, or Silence, Terror, Sleep, Drain, Aspir, Regen, Refresh etc. to all of your attacks in order to give yourself an edge over your enemy.Slimes would probably own most anything thanks to their obscene melee resistance.

What I want to know, though, is if you can do a group battle with your pets only, or if you HAVE to make it as a group. Because if you can, I have the perfect monster/job combination in mind. And no, I won't share it![]()
