Pankration in the Pit (09/04/2007)

It depends, they are also very weak to magic, and die fast that way. So teamed up against any other BLM enemy, or something with magic attacks, they'd be screwed. Against normal melee-type pets, they'd have a slight advantage though. Also, you set a "weapon damage type" to your mob, so your crab can have either blunt, slashing or piercing. If that's not enough, you can also set an element affiliation to your weapon type, so that every melee attack do 25-50 damage. So Slimes wouldn't be all THAT useful in those situations either. You can also set so that they give Amnesia, or Silence, Terror, Sleep, Drain, Aspir, Regen, Refresh etc. to all of your attacks in order to give yourself an edge over your enemy.

What I want to know, though, is if you can do a group battle with your pets only, or if you HAVE to make it as a group. Because if you can, I have the perfect monster/job combination in mind. And no, I won't share it :p

- Temperament
Monster temperament is measured in two ways:
Wild vs. Tame
Aggressive vs. Defensive
A monster's temperament directly affects how it acts during battle. For example, a tame and defensive monster may choose to use stunning techniques on an opponent attempting to cast a powerful spell or use a weapon skill.

Seems to be an easy way to avoid spells/WSes, have a tame defensive slime.

You all seem to be misunderstanding it a bit. You can catch the Cerberus enemy type, noty Cerberus himself. Basically, you take a "photo" of Cerberus, which is then projected as a kind of 3D-image on to the battlefield (if you've ever done CBG you'll know what I mean, its in the same place). Its not the monster itself, its an image of it kind of. So he won't have Meteor and Comet like the NM do. It will have the same abilities, but not spells.

yeah, youve explained it better than I

They also said that:
2. Discipline & Temperament

The following traits will change depending on the type of orders you give your monsters, as well as the frequency with which you give them:

- Discipline
The more disciplined your monster is, the more likely it is to correctly respond to orders given during a match.

- Temperament

Which seem to hint that you don't set it to tame & defensive yourself. It changes depending on how often you give it orders, and which kind of orders you give it.

Imma catch me a Chigeo, I think I'll name him Pecker

Or do what I plan on doing... Getting a Uragnite, spam venom shell and any other DoT abilities, then hide in your shell and regen :p

assuming it works the way we think it does, that would be a epic battle

Wonder if a mob that can usually charm can charm the other mob in this. Charm the opponents mob and control that mob to kick the owner's ass, then it will not be able to receive anymore orders.

If they nerf Mortal Ray, they better nerf Erratic Flutter. Screw that haste, it's gotta be atleast 50%.
