Panzer Dragoon Saga

I have decided that this game is the greatest RPG of all time and anyone that disagrees is wrong.

Once more "No way, FFIV was the best ever"
Again, for measure "No way, FFVIII was the best"
Pause for gang lynching
And then "No way, Xenogears was the best ever"
Followed by "No way, Secret of evermore was the best!"
General confusion, followed by calling of this guy a fuckwit.
And then "No way, Legend of Dragoon was the best"
Which of course derails the whole thread, because everyone knows that noone aside from Square and/or enix can produce a good RPG, amirite?

Right there I just saved everyone alot of time by summing up this entire thread in about 12 lines. You can thank me later.

I haven't played this, however I have seen the Panzer Dragoon game for the Xbox or Gamecube (forget which system it was on) and the story seemed pretty interesting. It isn't the type of game i'd normally play, but I do like the style. I'd probably enjoy watching someone else play this as opposed to playing it myself though.

This seems like an awful lot of complaining.

Panzer was good, but Shadow Hearts is my "best ever."

Orta was the Xbox version. The first two and Saga were on Sega Saturn. They are just considered 3D shmups.

Exactly my point. Everytime you claim "best ever" you get about a dozen zealots running about screaming about how thier game is best, and how wrong you are in your opinion, and how that, of course, makes you bad person who needs to be shot out of a cannon into someone as equally useless, like Luke Perry.

Saga was the only Panzer Dragoon that was an RPG. It was even called "Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG" in Japan.

And yes, it kicks ass, but there's one thing IMO that stopped it from being "best evar" - it's a 10 hour game on 4 fucking discs. O. o

I really like the morphing animation on the dragon stat adjustment screen. Very cool. That system has so much untapped potential, graphically... but it uses a very unorthodox style of rendering which made most developers cheap out and hax the system to show graphics the "normal" way.
