lolthf(with no Sword merits yet) = 100 or 200 damage less than a Taru Ridill war with Sword merits.

It's hard to get a chance at damaging when you merit with the best equiped people on the server, but I hold my own. I was parsing either 880 or 980 on average. As long as the wars just do what they do(Stand there and do damage) and I am free to SA and TA properly, I can hold my own. There's somethign to be said however for the damage bonus thieves get vs the puks, and the fact I end up tanking half the time cause of an SA+WS. I would probably parse even higher if I had more practice or wasn't matched up with a Nin that does 1,400 damage a round... and a Monk that does 1,200... Some of the peopel in our LS are absolutely impossible to outparse.

I digress, the only thing i want to respond to in general, is a players ability to adapt to situations, not alterate the situations to fit the same narrow scope of what "should" be. Try different things, and play the game, it's the variety of situations that keep things amusing. You keep doing the same thing over and over, you are not 'playing' you are just trying to put yourself in a trance.

mnk parse higher in bhaflau than anywhere else except for maybe KRT

but..

war parse somewhat lower there than in ru'avitau, at least from what I've seen from my own damage I'm at least 100 lower average per fight.

I'm down for the Fire, Baja, neo party sometime.

And as for MP sponges on mnk/war... I honestly say sponge away!!! if its on mostly puks then the puk will be dead too fast to notice much of a difference, the mamools will make a huge MP sponge difference, but depending on the skill of the whm, it may or may not be enough to ruin the xp/hr

i want to cannon ;; see what my SAMawai can do.. someone let me know sometime

Off topic: Truly enjoyed the cannon session. Admittingly I had just recently picked white mage back up (as far as exping goes). The rush of a fast paced thickets party is great-- the bad thing is, what used to be considered great exp is now completely dull and boring because it is just not as fast. :(

Haste lasts 3 mins, not 5. Between the haste cycle I am casting Barfira to compensate the firespit attack that will occassionally land and curing or regenning as needed. Finish cycle and then rest and rince and repeat. Admittingly whoever is on the top of the haste cycle is at an advantage (a minor one) when I would need to catch that extra tick of mp. Problem with having the /war on a monk verses the /nin is he can honestly die during the time it takes me to interupt resting and raise to cure. I don't quite recall the second delay that it takes to rise from resting-- but it there. Honestly you can compensate for the /war-- but if you don't have to?

And in no way does that make me a lazy white mage (well maybe just a little bit) as regardless I am still constantly casting and resting.

11k exp an hour is not bad by any means-- however if the same group can get 15-20k an hour if the mnk subs /nin than by all means.. do so.

I did a 9-10k hour party with a NIN, WAR, MNK, RDM, BRD (who wasn't 75), and oddly enough (me as whm because the Nin insisted on WHM in party.) I would honestly wager that they could've got a higher exp per hour had there not have been another party there and if they would've been able to have kept chain on lurkers. That party had too much support imo.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.
