Parties in Tahronghi?

Hello everyone, I have yet to make my char (still waiting on a WP to Quetz =/ ) but I had a question. I plan on making a Mithra RDM and starting off in Windurst, but I am worried about when I get to be around level 10 or so. I played FFXI when it first came out, for only a short time, then I had to stop do to RL issues. I remember back when it first came out I was a Windurst citizen and could easily find parties in the Tahronghi Canyon area (i think thats the name), but I am wondering if anyone still parties in that area? Or is the only place people party is Dunes now?

I am just worried I am going to have to do a lot of running back and fourth between Windurst and the Dunes when I get around that level. @_@
 
I had parties from 8-10 in Tahronghi, they were really good actually. The times I venture back to Windy now though I rarely see any. I did do a "dunesesque" party in Maze Of Shakrami though. If you don't want to walk all the way to Dunes, give me a shout and you can /follow me to the boat.
 
Most people go to the Dunes now. When I first started I joined an all BLM party that went to the Maze and nuked worms to death, but Tahrongi, Shakrami and Buburimu are pretty much BST territory these days, except in the mountains when you first zone in from East Sarutabaruta. Lots of people level there from around 9 to 11 or so, then move on to Valkurm. It's a shame really, but it's more convenient for the players coming from Sandy and Bastok.
 
Sadly I hardly ever see partys here, or anywhere that detracts from the "normal" exp areas. I too recall when this place, as well as Maze of Shakrami, was teeming with eager new adventurers. Unfortunatley most people hear someone say "At this level you go here to party" and that's the end of it.

Maybe you can change this and return the areas around Windy into the unpacked exp havens they once were. Don't be afraid of Pashow Marshlands either. Make that stupid place serve a function beyond annoying travellers from Bastok to Jeuno, and the occasional Ballista.

Okay thanks for the quick replies. ^_^ I don't mind the trek to the Dunes, but the Dunes are so boring and plain looking, I'd rather level in Tahrongi. XD Oh well, I'll just go to the dunes or try and convince people to come to Tahronghi. Can't wait to get a WP and start playing again though! =D
 
I'll get you a WP after I get off work unless someone beats me to the punch. I should be home in about an hour or so.
 
You could try setting up a "east coast" party on the Event Scheduling board. I know a lot of people who would much rather level sub/new jobs in Tahrongi, Buburimu, or Maze than go "west coast" to the dunes.

And Rappa, thanks for that great idea! I could do something like that and if anyone else is interested then I'd be able to party with experienced players and learn from them. I just hope they don't mind partying with an Uber-Noob. =p

Woohoo! Thanks for the WP Neyla! ^_^ I created a Mithra Red Mage named Yunna. Unfortunately the other names I had in mind were taken so I had to settle with the name of one of my favorite J-Pop artists. =P
