Partying in the dunes

I dunno maybe its just me, but I have been sitting around the dunes the past two nights trying to get together a decent party or be invited to one, any hints or helps or suggestions on what to do. LVL 13 Warrior, need party in order to lvl up more. I just started the game and love playing (obsession maybe) but not being able to party puts a sour taste into my mouth.

solo dunes lol go into kon high lands get to 15 then lv off liz in dunes then gobs etc and flg at same time i got 1-20 rng in 1 day of playing from soloing when flg hope it helps

You can also go into the even schedueling area and make a post see if you can get a party going that way...

Dunes is rough for everyone. Don't be too disheartened if the parties are a bit scarce and/or if they suck. Solo EPs in Kon. Highlands and La Thiene with your party flag up; at least then you'll get some exp coming in. Be sure to set a search comment if you haven't already so people see what weapons you can use, how much exp tnl, and if you have food or a ranged weapon that'll help a lot too. Anyway, good luck, Dunes sucks a lot right now because there aren't many people taking jobs through. Just hang in there.

ya not alot of jobs going though i had a RL satic was good got 2 75s done with them lol but then 2 moved server and stuff and i got left behind but satics help alot u r golden in asatic out of it u need to learn the other ropes but in it u can easy get a chain of 6 in it

You said you are a new player do you have your search flag on? /inv

Another thing you can do is put your tnl in your search comment, and make sure you have the green bubble next to your name. Some people probably could think you are soloing...

Honestly I would try to level that WAR to 15, don't forget your empress band it helps.

Comedy question: Do you have /WHM subbed?

I like to solo that range just across the way in La Theine Plateau, near the dunes zone. In the trees around there you can find fungus and worms that you can kill fairly quickly. The fungus drop dark crystals and sleepshrooms, both are decent gil and drop quite often. The worms die fast. Make sure you get a signet before leaving town, and if your home nation controlls the region you can find guards to give you a signet out in the field. Be careful with both fungus, and if you take lizards on in the dunes solo. Both have a nasty poison breath attack, that will kill you. Pick up some antidotes before you leave town, lots of places sell them http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/2922

Personally I'd rather level solo up til at least 20, it's just not worth it to get a party at that level when most of the time it takes the party longer to gather than it does to exp, and you kill mobs for twice as much exp per kill as you would solo, about half as often.

Yeah I had my flag up but I dont know how to put a message up with all the items i have in my possession. But I think you guys have a good idea of soloing until lvl 15, most of the people with their flags ups in the dunes were lvl 15 or around that. Thanks guys.

I have lvl 17 whm once you get to lvl 15 we can start to party together and since we work together we can always make plans to meet online at the same time... Plus since I'm whm and ur war we have 2 of the most scarce jobs in the dunes it should make creating a party that much easier

If you dont wanna type it all in manualy like that, you can go to the search menu, at the bottom theres the comment option. Pick the green experience option and and type out your 3 lines that way.

If it isnt in the search menu its somewhere, I dont have the game running right now but it is in the menu.

I don't think you have a subjob yet but when you do your gonna want to sub monk or thief (I'd do mnk) or make one of those your main and warrior your sub.

If you are having a hard time finding a party in the dunes you might want to concider playing World of Warcraft. You can make a mechanical battle chicken to help you out in fights. You can turn invisable and gank lowbies. You can also jump....run around a jump.......its crazy. Also you can take off all your armor and dance naked on top of mail boxes. WoW.

I just started playing ff xi, its pretty neat but I keep dying....damn those goblins.

Yeah, the solution to finding out how to find a party in FFXI, is to play WoW. ^ ^

I've only lvled one job recently, Paladin. I've had three parties. One took me from 10-15, the next from 15-18, and the last one from 18-24. I put my parties togather myself, which is easier for tanks and healers to do, but I did the same thing on most of my other jobs, it just takes a bit longer.

By putting togather my own parties I'm able to seek for my ideal party set up, and also try to get member with some rank behind them, and sub jobs. I know that rank doesn't mean much anymore, but it is better to have it than not.

So, typically I tend to get parties that have more experience, and they will usually last longer.
