Yoshindor didn't create this thread Tagrineth did. The original post to this thread is now post #10. I merged posts from the Event Scheduling thread this whole mess came from and thus it APPEARS as if Yoshindor created this thread, which he did not.
The posts #1-9 of this thread were moved here because their content doesn't belong on the Event Scheduling board.

First i'll say thank you to Tag for understanding, second since i'm some fucking "Tool" i wont be coming. you got enough that supposedly NEED the ohat. Like there is a definition of who NEEDs and who doesn't NEED a ohat. funny, i think that would be SE's decision not yours and they set the hat for ALL JOBS!!!

I've been playing the game longer and had BLM at 75 longer than but shure I'm incompitent.

1. Until pretty recently I wasn't even a high enough level to have a meaningful presence in O-hat fights. Oh, yeah, a 64 or lower lvl DRG is gonna be REAL useful against Hktk... my wyvern wouldn't even have lasted long enough for /WHM to be useful.

2. From what I understand of Shen, anyone below like 72-73 (especially melee) will be utterly useless there. I also wasn't even aware of those Shen runs.

3. Point out the obvious? That a lvl 75 BLM whose highest melee job is a 33 NIN NEEDS an O-hat RIGHT THE FUCK NOW? Just because it's ALL JOBS doesn't mean you should use it on Black freaking Mage. BLM has many better pieces to wear on its Head than O-hat.

You mentioned WHM Hauby yourself (Shen).. just out of curiousity - my WHM is level 36 now. What would you have said if someone had posted a Shen run and I'd posted in the thread saying "I HAVE LANTERN I WANT A REVEREND MAIL I'M GONNA LVL WHM SOON"? You'd probably have thought, along with the rest of the board, that I was bat shit loco and should wait until my WHM was close to being able to equip it. It's about the same concept, I'd say.
 
Once again, It shouldnt matter who gets a hat for w/e job so as long as they bring 2-3 friends that can help. ;/ Why do people make it so diffcult by thinking, Oh i have a cluster I can go alone in this huge group of ppl.

lol, why a BLM would need an O-hat is totally beyond me. I wouldn't call him greedy, though. He's the only guy who's atleast offered to help me out in my AF, since like 90% of my higher level friends moved to WoW or quit for other reasons.

But I didn't say that. I said from the start that 3 other hats would've been np. Was willing to go higher after learning that Passions wasn't purely BLM, although a NIN 33 is still pushing it for an O-hat already.

Anyway, I tried to keep things civil at first, as Passions's provided link will so kindly display, but fuck it.

OHSNAP its only for soloing now? crap, and here i though it was great for the 10 acc and 10 ranged acc too. Damn.

Blm use it for soloing. cool. for soloing, you wont need the +10 acc, because if you have acc problems, its stronger than you, and it'll eat you if it can hit you. +10 ranged acc, well, i guess you could throw stacks of phantom talthums at it. +10 eva. Shouldnt even come into play, you either have stoneskin, blink, or have bound it and been throwing spells at it till it falls down.

Other jobs? its used for exp, difficult events, missions, AND soloing. This hat helps melees in thier PRIMARY function, not a SECONDARY function.

and the All Jobs thing, Moldavite earing is all jobs, so should the Dragoon be allowed to lot it over the BLM if it drops? BLM can wear Gillard trousers too, so should they lot them over the DRK and RNG if your LS manages to kill Kurrea?

Heh. I'm sorry. But that's a very useful piece of equipment for melee in experience point party's and thus I will never see a priority for a Mage to get it.
 
How an optical hat helps a mage:
+10 evasion (really helpful for mp, the less mp you use curing the better)
+10 accuracy (mages aren't really that good with weapons, even with the skill capped)

It's also awesome for skillup.

Honestly hearing someone say that optical hat is useless for a mage is like someone saying that whm MBs are useless. They have their place; nobody should diss it, and honestly I kinda think that those people who do ridicule it are the kind of people I don't want to get to know.

Now tag, please show me a better piece of equipment I can use for my RDM. if you can't, then stfu.
