I'm a bankruptcy and foreclosure specialist for a mortgage company and.. why do people get all mad at me when they can't pay their bill and go to foreclosure! I mean COME ON! Quit smoking the crack and get a job. You loose your job, GET A NEW ONE! If you get divorced, REFINANCE! If you can't afford it, SELL IT FAST! It's not hard people!

It's not my fault or this companies fault, it's your fault. So we miss posting 1 or 9 payments you sent and YOUR GOING TO CONTACT AN ATTORNEY ABOUT!?!!?!? WHERE'S THE OTHERS?!?!?

Wow, I'm sick of stupid people and recently it has been progressing into FFXI too, so people PAY YOUR BILLS AND YOU WILL BE A GOOD FFXI PLAYER!

Wow... I totally forgot about this. I was having a bad day I guess. Also, I have a hatred for police that DON'T do their jobs and cause more problems then not. Kinda like GMs ;)

And self-responsibility is at an EXCEPTIONAL low, and that definetely includes FFXI. We can really show that the real world is slowly getting more and more incorperated(sp?) into this game with inflation, corrupt GMs, people not claiming responsibility for their actions. I'm sure there's more so I'll add them later while at work.

Ever hear of Downsizing? ever hear of personal tragedy that results in a financial sink that soaks all funds? ever hear of the idea that in this society it often takes 2 incomes to float a family, and if 1 of those incomes is lost due to ... oh I dont know, one of the Parents being diagnosed with a terminal disease, and the spouse works for a greed fuck organization like the one that employs you..... which offers shit pay and super high premium insurance rates suddenly seeing themselves over their heads?

Have you ever had to work 2 shifts to support a family and attempt to keep a house due to a spouse falling down the stairs while pregnant winding up in the hospital? Have you ever had to cover all the expenses of a few kids because your ex-spouse pays nothing and if you dont go drop the 100.00 on meds your kid will fucking die?

I suppose being a "specialist" you also understand that you mortgage lenders after a bankruptcy build up "arrears" (sp?) after obviously protesting the bankruptcy, you lenders offer the home owner the opportunity to add all the back owed money to the loan, but not on the loan itself, but over a period of say ... 18 months to repay. That adds a considerable amount onto a mortgage that was probably already too high, therefore making it even worse to attempt to retain the property, and giving you vampires even more money than if you simply advised the homeowner to surrender the property.
It ends up being that when a payment becomes late, you assholes don't apply the late payment to the mortgage, you apply to the arrears. You dont inform the homeowner of this, instead you wait till it now becomes a few months late (the whole time the homeowner thinks the payment is going to the mortgage and arrears) to inform them of this little bit of info.

Then theres the rising property values in most major areas of the country. You big Conglom-o fat cats are hammering down even harder to forclose on mortgages now so you can resell the properties for a nice profit. With all the highrise hospitals and clinics popping up all over owned by major insurance companies (who often have thier hands in lending companies) offering their employees down payment incentives on houses near their places of employment, it all gels together real nice suddenly. So the excuse of the greed machine taking a loss because of the "crack smokers" is utterly invalid.

X you are a dipshit, you point fingers and make idiotic accusations/theories as to why people get upset when they are loosing their house.
You are also probably one of those people that sees the homeless on TV in soup kitchens and says "kill them all, that'll solve the issue... I'm a taxpayer blah blah" then high fives your equally dumbassed buddy. Pound another Budweiser for me dude @_@, oh look the hot wings are here....

To some degree X has a point though. I know people that would rather spend money on drugs, than pay for food for their child. They are horrible horrible people that need to be taken out back and shot ASAFUCKINGP!

You, Asia, are a good person, and that isnt the case. I think he was trying to say that people that would rather get high and get away from reality, deserve whats comming to them. I'm sure he didnt mean every person in the U.S. is as how you described it.

My parents came to this county when I was 8 years old. It was NOT easy for any of us, seeings how we didnt even know English, but if you try and work hard, good things can happen. :)
 
Maybe I should clarify and I apologize if I offended you. I am married almost 3 years now and used to live in a VERY bad neighborhood. My wife's family has gone through many of these issues with drugs, etc and I've gone through many medical issues myself. Heck, my newborn was in the NICU for a whole week due to breathing issues.

Here's where I was aiming. I'm talking about the people who don't try, the people who know they haven't made payments for 8-9 months and don't understand whats going on. I love to help people get back to curent, expecially with medical and family issues. My pet peeve is people who don't. Bankruptcy can help to take away debts to focus on what you REALLY need to pay, but then people make no effort to catch up. With BK plans, yes the mortgager is informed to make both payments to the trustee and the lender, but sometimes people need to realise, move before it gets too late...something I'm not allowed to give advise on EVER (damn company policy).

The big problem here are the people who ty and cheat the system or act uninformed when they certainly were. Hurricane victims, widows, military, I respect all of that. Divorces I really don't particularly want to touch on. It's the people who file BK 8 times, file payment disputes previously resolved, people who have the money and won't pay or even want to work something out, and people who's fault it truely is that need to actually face their consequences. I'm generally a nice guy, but in this profession, I'm generally way too nice and take things too much to heart. I was having a rough day and my beliefs exploded.

In closing, see what my flame truely was as I wasn't in my normal frame of mind and not as a rich spoiled company rep just trying to make more money. I apologize again for not clarifying my beliefs. Thank you for your time.

If that was the case then I apologize, however all I sensed in that post was ignorance. He throws out all his "options" as if they are meal combos on the McDonalds menu. Such is not the case.
Sure a quick sell can be done, but most of the time its not worth the homeowners time becuase the yend up doing all that work simply to still owe a certain amount to the mortgage company. Refinances arent all that simple either.

I also didnt describe as every person in the US, nor did he. He made a uninformed generalization of toothless hillbilly proportions. X's point rolled right off the table with all that "stop smoking crack" shit.

Working hard is key, I agree, however, as our want vs. need society grows, working hard is simply not getting it done anymore for a fair cross section of the US. Its a reality few will wake up to see, Private industry owners are cutting costs left and right, not just to survive anymore, but to fill their insatiable greed. It is happening at the expense of the little guy that puts the shovel in the ground or pushes the pencil.

Try validating his "points" to a 40 yr old father of 3 with a handicapped wife, who after 15 yrs of blood and toil for a greed factory, winds up 3 yrs late for his raise, has his health insurance soak up 1/3 of his pay only for the owners of the company he works for claim business is bad, yet they drive a new beemer every year. Then he gets his raise, only to find out it was what he should have gotten 3 yrs ago.
Then has his mortgage sold to another lender ad nauseum who decides his home is in a sweet target area of development.

The above may seem elaborate, but its a hell of a alot more realistic than "quit smoking crack and pay your bills"

Happened in my family, my father past away when I was four. I have a brother 2 years younger, one that is 6 years older and one that is 8 years older. So my mother, yes my mother had to go into the bussiness world and work again. Back into one of those heartless gigantic corporations, General Electric if you must know. We do damn well at that thanks to her hard work. Somehow not only did she raise and put 4 sons through college, by herself, but she did a damn good job at it. I have VERY little pitty or sympathy in me for people who all they can do is make up one excuse after another. The reasons of a family members death or getting laid off get old fast. Some people have inescapable problems that they can never recover from. Some. Very few.

Those who have faced some of the toughest hardships out there have the least pitty among them for those who fail at the same hardships because they where to good to get an education when they where younger or to lazy to pickthemselves up when they fall down. Ohh they don't jave a HS education cause they decided to start having kids at 15 (or youngerr), now who the fucks fault is that? When you decide to drop out of HS anyone with a fraction of a brain could tell you you have just fucked your life totaly and completly.
 
Your points are well placed Dire, and with you I agree mostly.
However not everyone that breaks thier ass to earn a better life gets one.
So many people assume that if you work like a slave, you will get to some promised, hallowed land and leave the lazy behind.

It's an illusion. It doesnt ring true for everyone. Not anymore anyway.
And the some, or very few that you mention with inescable problems are far more than you think.
More and more the hard working people are falling further behind while the lazy reap the spoils instead.
Excuses are one thing. Reality is another. I too have no pity for excuses, but I do have pity for those whos efforts get them no where.
I truly do feel for you loosing your father, and I applaud you and your family
for getting back on your feet and surviving. That took strength many people I know don't have, But have you personally ever been laid off from a job and you are the sole provider of a family living paycheck to paycheck, while attending school to better your lives?

My husbands father left him and his siblings at an early age for a teenage girl.
His Mother worked like a field slave and furthered her education at the same time to get them through that hard time and rise to a better life.
Well, after she graduated, she landed a great job, only to loose it to downsizing. Lather, rinse and repeat for 7 yrs.

Your Mother is a great woman for what she endured, and a strong one at that. But imagine if all the effort she put into that got her nowhere.
And her jobs were systematically cut back year after year.
Your pitiless attitude for anyone would be quite different.

Please dont get me wrong, I condone no excuses. But I condemn no-one who
honestly is in a position of ill fortune. To do so is inhuman, and I'm not about to let my humanity slip away due to a some hardened experiences I've endured.
 
actually my friends dad never graduated HS. he grew up dirt poor, and now owns his own buissness and is far more richer then a lot of people in the metro i live in. he does what he wants when he wants, and the dude is quicker then a raptor when it comes the come backs and closes.

not everyone that drops out is a loser for life, just most ;)
