PC hates me

Before you say anything about the password change, my PS2 connects fine with the password I have.
My PC has a connection to the internet (judging by the fact that I'm posting this), but for some reason when I try to start up PlayOnline (with and without windower) it gives me an error that there's no connection.

I didn't get a "password was incorrect" message though.
It was a "cannot connect" message.
I don't think my password was affected anyway. It's 10 characters.'

Either its a firewall or your router dropped your PC from the network

Shouldn't be firewall. My laptop and PS2 connect to the same router that my PC does, and both of those connect fine (got the game installed on my laptop last night).
Unless I'm missing something?

Doubt it. Specifically on the PC, there is no antivirus program outside of the sadly outdated free trial that came with it.

Aye. PC is directly connected to the router, and the laptop gets to it wirelessly.

It shouldn't be, especially if you haven't been changing settings, and FFXI previously worked on it.
