PCC Drop

And the next time [natural disaster/catastrophe X] hits [country Y] the world will demand, demand the US step in and handle everything.

"World opinion" means fuckall when it changes once those countries need something from America.

Global opinion of the US? Who cares?

Its all fun and games until someone blows one of your buildings up. Then you probably care.

But Cubs is right, it changes if you need something from us. Kind of like how the US views Saudi Arabia.

Our buildings were blown up due to our support of middle eastern governments that Bin Laden sees as an obstacle to his creation of
a regional islamic government. I'm not sure if global opinion is really against us on our support of Saudi, Israel, and Egypt.

What does the Peacock Charm have to do with world politics? Are they being manufactured for our troops in the Middle East or something?

It went like this:

1 Someone got a PCC drop.
2 Vang spouted some bullshit about lazy people
3 Vang said Canadians suck at life basically
4 People went the direction of defending Canada
5 Developed to a discussion of world oppinion of USA

The rest is history.

Secondly Foo you apparently are not paying attention to anything any of us have said. The "I have a life" is tiring. It's a cop out and the oldest trick in the book for not having item X. If you have too much of a life to get a PCC then no, you don't deserve a PCC. Sorry, so harsh, but god damn I am sick of the "I have a life argument" that is brought up TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

I have to agree with Vang.

If you can't spare about 2 minutes tops of actively camping a NM over it's 3 hour big window(You can go afk for a total most of it and be safe if you know how it works,) you don't deserve it.

You make Argus sound so simple when its not. You could end up staying 4-5 days before even getting one ToD. The problem with Argus is you need more than one person to camp it to make it worthwhile. It has a huge spawn area and then it might not even spawn near you and you can miss it. Then lets say he doesn't spawn and Leech King does, you need to know when he dies too. Its a pain in the ass. 3-4 people needed just to get a simple time of death from people who do everything physically possible to keep that ToD from you when they already know it. Thats why SE changed it. They were sick of seeing the same 2-3 people getting the item, hoarding it to themselves and then making it near impossible for anyone else to have a decent chance at it.

The idea behind NM was not for people to hoard them and people to monopolize them. This is evident with the rare tag placed on most NM drops. SE wanted it so that 1 person could only have 1 of these items. SE is just adjusting it so that those who want the really good items can now camp those really good item for use and nothing more.

Bravo, bravo Lavi

:D

Well said, well said indeed.

that was an impressive statement.

Oh and as to a reason to why people don't camp it now as to before? Take Rappa as a prime example. He is waiting until all the hype dies before he begins camping again. Its very simple. A lot of people figure right after the update a ton of people will be camping and they all just wait until after the hype dies and they can do the same with little to no competition. However, since the update has made PCC readily available in a BCNM40 its a whole different story. Its a hell of a lot easier to get the item in the BCNM than camp for weeks on end to maybe have a chance at the item. Simple enough. Not to mention if you did camp Argus, like I said, you need 3-4 people minimum to just get the ToD and maybe have a chance of claiming him in the future. And when you do get claim and drop, how the hell do you share an EX item 3-4 ways? You camp him again for days on end.... Most people don't want to do that if there is an easier, simpler way.

i got VE yesterday choco'n through the dunes. crossed the whole beach dismounted and claimed.
take a look at dowzers thread how they got thf knife, thats how to camp nm like that. why do you think the monopolizers monopolized. cause everyone that actually show up thinks they can beat 4 people or however many there are.

its funny how se neglected the problems of land god monopolies. maybe cause jps across most servers own them.

they just tossing bones out so people shut up for a bit.

Instead of making everything rare/ex they gave us options that are alot better in stats.THere is a whole new list of items/weapons that can replace the old (impossible to get) equipment. So now when u can't get one thing (kraken club) you can go for the other. If you don't wanna camp 8 hrs for chary u can trade a taco to ??? and get justice sword (With 18 ppl). But yeah monopolizers got fucked in the yard so sucks for them

Excuses, cop outs, excuses, cop outs blah blah etc etc.

If these people /searched whored the areas of the NM they wanted to camp (Ya know, like you used to do Lavi?) they would see no one is camping these NMs. Like Meeze and Tiya both said, Leech King and VE were both just chilling unclaimed, when they got to each of their respective spawn locations.

To clarify what I meant, I just assumed after what I personally saw that all the nms with the new r/e drops would be heavily camped, so I wasn't going to bother camping them for a while. That does NOT mean that they actually ARE, that means that I personally have decided to schedule other things to do than go out and camp them. Right now I'm working on my blm subjob so that I can level whm freely (it's at 36, just one more level!!). I'm also trying to get in a scheduled amount of fishing time in everyday, trying to coordinate for an o.hat run and a CoP static, and looking to level another potential subjob this weekend.

So basically, things like VE or Argus just aren't my thing right now. I put them on the backburner and I gave my initial reasoning as to why I did so. So if people are randomly chocoboing and pass VE unclaimed, then my original guess was wrong. That still doesn't mean I'm going to rush out there and do it, I'll camp them when I decide that's what I want to do. Could be a random whim tomorrow, could be something to do after I move IRL in a few months.

They are a Japanese company. They don't want to piss of their main source of income and most of their employment, if they show favoritism to anyone else. You know why most games are released in Japan before the US? Because thats where most of the purchasing power for video games is(actually was might be more correct). However, lately as many US gaming companies have been showing, a huge growth in the industry has been outside of Japan. SE doesn't realize this or are too stupid to. They still want to give themselves the advantage(not gaming wise but show favoritism to the Japanese base). I would be curious to see what the stats are as far as a customer base for FFXI really is. Japan is very small and as of late the population has been decreasing while the US is always increasing in population and has a steady increase in gamers. Is FF really most JP populated or has the US actually overcome their numbers?
