For some of us, that's not really much money. I won't crap on a Good Times topic, but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed since people like this greatly help keep gilsellers in business who continue to ruin the game and its economy for people like me who just like playing the game for fun.

Just to extrapolate on this a little, just doing a little fuzzy math with rounded off numbers...

First of all, you take out the 2 years of FFXI fees, which is 24*15 = $360, which brings the total down to $3600.

Now remembering this was made in the span of 2 years, or 104 weeks, you get $3600/104 = $34.62 a week.

Now I suppose you could argue that making ~$35 a week from playing a game is cool. Can't really say it is or isn't. But working a part-time job once a week at minimum wage is pretty much the same amount of money. So as a supplemental income, it's really not all that much when you think about it, especially considering that the people who bought the gil probably made 10x that reselling it.
